Distract me?

I'm sitting at my parent's house alone and it sucks. My dad passed away Wednesday and it still feels weird.

Do you haz a happie to share? A funny story? An accomplishment?

Last night I made a fleece blanket for one of my bm's. It's Zebra on the back.

Sorry to hear about your dad!

I guess my funny (although not that funny) would be that I have been shampooing our carpets today. To entertain myself while I do it, I have been dancing around and singing. I don't normally have all the windows and blinds open, but today I do since I need to dry the floors. One of my neighbors was walking by and started laughing at my little show. I waved and turned bright red. No more dancing or singing...

I love catching people doing weird stuff too! I probably should have thought it over better since we live on a major street and people walk by all the time. Oh well. At least I made someone giggle.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

A happy thing that's going on is our engagement session is next week! I'm going through my wardrobe trying to find 3-5 different outfits for the occasion. We're starting off the day with a Spiderman themed shoot for FI, he's a huge fan.

Here's a shot our photographer took. We love his style, we'll be doing something like this at the beach.

FI and I love the silliness of this pic so we will try to do this.

This is the idea that we want to do with the Spiderman shoot. FI's jaw nearly hit the floor when I agreed to this. I have a huge fear of spiders but am doing my best to include FI's ideas and hobbies into the wedding frenzy.

We're doing some pictures at school where we met. I'm looking at dark jeans with a lighter top and fun flats. I got a gorgeous purple Calvin Klein dress that I'll see where I can wear it. FI is picking out my shirt for the Spiderman shoot. I'm relinquishing full artistic control to him for that.

When I was in high school, I borrowed my dad's minivan (a bright red Dodge Caravan), and my friend and I went shopping. We were on a main, two-lane road when these guys (about our age) pulled up next to us at a red light in a sports car, blasting rap music and looking over at us like we were losers. In response, we turned up the music in the minivan as loud as it would go, but the radio was on one of those oldies stations and the song playing was "American Pie" by Don McLean. We gave them a smug look anyway, and the guys gave us a "wtf, you losers" look before peeling out at a red light. I still giggle thinking about it

I also drove a minivan in high school, it was a 93 Plymouth Voyager with a faded red paint job and bright red upholstery and interior. His name was Petey. He had a great sound system, but the radio took about 30 minutes to turn on every morning, just about as I was turning into the school parking lot. It eventually stopped turning on, but we would turn the volume up really loud before football games in the parking lot and my friends and I would dance as we put on our band uniforms. </div><div>
