Fruit salad "dressing"

I'm working on a baptism menu and was going to do some sort of melon kabobs.  I was trying to think of a little something to put on them to make them better/fancier.  I found a recipe with mint, lemon, and simple syrup.  Does anyone use anything else?  I'm wondering about something with basil for some reason.

Before I get any dip suggestions, I don't want to do that for a few reasons.  Mainly it won't work on the pretty tray.
