Aunt as Maid of Honor?

I am thinking about asking my Aunt to be my Maid of Honor...is that weird?  My Aunt has always been a wonderful friend to me and we have stayed close throughout the years.  Plus , we are having a small wedding and inviting only our closest friends/family, so it is difficult to choose one of my girlfriends over the other.  What do you think?

You can have anyone you want be your MOH.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I think it would be nice. I have a niece and would be ecstatic if some day she asked me :)

I will also add that I took my aunt with me when I actually bought my wedding dress and she was very excited :D

Not weird. MOH should be someone you're very close to. Whoever first pops into your head as meaningful to you is probably that person. Go with her

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.

I think that would be really sweet.  I'm sure she will be very touched, good luck!

I think it's very sweet, and it will no doubt mean a lot to both of you.

I was MOH for my niece's wedding last Fall.  There's only 10 years between us, and she was practically raised by my parents, so it made sense.
