hello Friday!

Happy day everyone I hope it's a great one for you.

My brother had emergency surgery last night to remove his appendix. He is doing ok but my whole family is in DC right now so we all feel a little helpless. And poor SIL trying to balance 2 kids and being with my brother and her family is worthless. Grrrrrr.  This is when living far away is hard.

On a lighter note I had a performance review at work and it went awesome  yippee!

Re: hello Friday!

  • Happy Friday!

I hope you're brother's ok Aggie!  That's gotta be pretty scary.  But congrats on the good review!

Today I have a ton of errands planned.  BN, jewelry store to get my ring cleaned, oil change, and a few other places.  The electrician is supposed to be here between 1:30 and 3:30 so I have to be home in time for that.  Then of course MSU plays tonight :)

Also, I'm watching Boy Meets World right now.  This was a great show.

  • Also, my arch nemesis the bird is back.  She keeps sitting on the gutter where she always used to nest and I can see her staring at me inside the house.  I mean I get that she's confused because she's probably nested in that same spot for years and we've ruined that for her but GO AWAY already.

I need a nap already lol.

  • Hi! Happy Friday! Today I'm only working a half day and then taking my team out to lunch and on store visits which basically means we'll have a half day. I love working in retail. :) We're going to my parents' tomorrow for Easter so I'm excited about that. I haven't been there since Christmas and I'm sure it'll be fun.

@Aggie, congrats on the great performance review! Those are the best. I hope you're settling in to the house well.

@Liz, enjoy your errands. I can't wait for Girl Meets World to start. BMW was a pretty awesome show. I hope your bird nemesis goes away. And Go Sparty tonight! Too bad Indiana messed up our all Big 10 Final Four.

Did you hear they are planning a spin off of BMW?  It will be centered on Corey and Topenga's daughter and they are going to call it Girl Meets World?  I really hope it happens cause I loved that show.

My niece had her appendix out 2 weeks ago because it perforated.  Super scary, glad to hear your brother is ok, Aggie.

What is everyone's plans for the weekend?  My BFF is coming today with her kids and her husband and we are going to take the girls to the playground for the first time today and take some family photos.  Then tomorrow my BFF is going to color eggs with her family for the day and DH & I and the girls are going to an egg hunt at my midwife's house and then we are going to Long Island to celebrate Passover with my family.  We are coming back Sat night and my best friend will be back at my house again overnight.  Sun AM we will all do breakfast together and then she will go to her families for Easter dinner and then home to Brooklyn and DH and I and the girls will go to DHs grandfathers house for dinner.  I am tired just typing out all our plans for the weekend!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

  • Morning!

Aggie:Yea for good reviews aggie. Boo for surgery!
E: Silly bird! I hope it gets the memo soon and goes away.
Lois: Indiana didn't mess up anything. GO CUSE!!!!
Ammiers: I don't think you are on any more but its on. CUSE vs Marquette

I am working today! H has off and will be going snowmobiling. I guess Syracuse still has a ton of snow. We don't have any. We don't have big plans this weekend. Just painting the hallway and Easter dinner at 12:30pm. My grandma has surgery today so any prayers would be appreciated.

  • Hello!
Today I've got a lot of stuff to get done. I need to do 3 loads of laundry, clean the entire house, go grocery shopping, go get my wedding band checked, and all I want to do is sit and finish The Sea of Tranquility!  Tonight we will go to Good Friday service at Church at 7, so I gotta get it all done by then.

Aggie - I had to have my appendix removed when I was in 6th grade. Then my incision got an infection and I was out of school for almost a month until I could go back. It was awful. Any surgery is scary! I hope that your brother heals up fast!  Heating pads were my best friend while recovering! And the Demerol drip they had me on for pain. hahah!

E - Sounds like you have full day!

Unfortunately for me, I've already borrowed a ton of money to go to college the first time, and since there's a limit on how much you can get I might be close to it. booo.

  • Go ' Cuse!  <-- this is clearly for Jay because I don't follow college basketball.  I slept through the game last night on Jay's lap.  But hey - he's happy so that's all that matters.
  • Yea I didn't stay up and watch it either! 10pm start is way to late for me. I checked my phone in the morning and put on my Syracuse T-Shirt.

  • Jodi - that sounds like an intense weekend.  Holy cow!

jlq - any word yet if you've been admitted to the one program?

And yes, I've heard about Girl Meets World and I could not be more excited.  Seriously, I loved BMW and it was just a great, family show.  I remember being heartbroken when Cory and Topanga broke up for a little while.

I went to BN and got to finish Requiem but I also bought something too to make up for my free reading.  Then I got my ring cleaned and it's so sparkly :) :)  And I got a new top that I can wear on Easter.  I've been pretty productive.  Now I'm back home now waiting for the electrician.  I'm also watching Pitch Perfect and I love this movie.  It's so ridiculous but so funny :)

  • Brother is doing well. He will be going home sometime soon. Jlq I had a friend have her appendix out when she was in middle school and she was out for forever. This is laproscopic surgery and the recovery time is a fraction of what it used to be.

Yay for Easter weekend and dying Easter eggs. Boo for fafsa. Boooooooooookoo

So sorry about your brother, Aggie.  I'm glad the surgery went well!!

I don't get the Boy Meets World love.  Lots of people are talking about it and I'm kinda just like "That show had a big following?"  Interesting.  I think I was just a bit too old for it.

Side note: I met Ben Savage at my college freshman year.  He came to visit a good friend of his and stayed one floor up in my dorm.  Super nice.  He couldn't really go out without getting mobbed by everyone on campus.  It was weird.

This makes me happy.  I would be really disappointed to find out he was a complete douche so I'm glad he's not.

And yeah, I loved that show and had the biggest crush on Ryder Strong.  It was part of the TGIFriday line up on ABC and it was fantastic.

I met Mario Lopez during college. It was pretty neat. I have a picture with him, too.
But I'm still jealous that you got to meet Ben Savage. That would have been awesome!

E - I can't be admitted into the program until I have certain pre-reqs filled (A&P I&II, and a math). Basically, I take those classes this year and get them out of the way and I'm in. It's silly how it's done, it turns a 2 year program into a 3 year program. But there's no way around it. Right now I'm considered "pre-occupational therapy". I can take any class I want, as long as it's not an OCT class.

YOU GUYS. I was at the grocery store, and I was standing in front of all the hams and I had no clue what to buy! I called my stepdad in a panic. I said "I don't know how to buy a ham!" And I'm pretty sure the other ladies there judged me. But seriously, how to you know how to pick out a good ham?! It was horrible.
ETA: I also went a little overboard when buying stuff for our Easter dinner. It's only me, DH, and a friend of ours. 3 people, and I bought enough to feed a small army. Oops.

  • Oh gotcha.  I feel like you've told that to me before so I apologize if you have :)  Good luck with the cooking!  Don't feel bad about the ham, I would have no idea how to buy one either!

ah, okay - I just looked up the years of Boy Meets World.  I was a junior in college when it ended!  That's why I have no recollection of the show past the first few seasons.  I've caught reruns here and thought it was hokey, but all shows were at that time.

I adored Full house to a degree that was unhealthy.  I will watch reruns of that until the cows come home.  Nick at Nite is fantabulous.  I really want to see a few episodes with Vicky - I haven't seen those in forever!  The episodes are baaaaaaaaad, but whatever.  We love what we love when we're kids!
