Processional??

Hi, I was wondering what everybody used for their processional? My mom brought it up like a month ago and I haven't found anything I like yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!

Re: Processional??

  • I was all sorts of boring and traditional with my music.  Funny story though, the DJ messed up and the Recessional was done to 'here comes the bride'. :P  We just went with it.

  • I walked to a string quartet's version of "Imagine" by John Lennon.  The BMs walked to a string quartet's version of "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley.

  • I just met with my piano player the other day and gave him "Here Comes the Sun" for the bridal party and "Marry Me" for my entrance.  Because its such a short aisle, he's actually blending the two into one song so there won't be a significant stop and start between them.

My bridesmaids and ring bearer walked to "Here Comes the Sun" and I walked to "In Your Eyes," both performed by string trio.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • My bridesmaids came in to The Beatles "in my life" and I entered to "Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Gloating in Space by Spiritualized, both instrumental by a string trio.

[QUOTE]I used "All Good Gifts" from Godspell for everyone else and personally walked down the aisle to the Bridal Chorus.

    We'll be playing this:

If you're playing recorded music, check out soundtracks. Lars and the Real Girl, Up, Amelie, Pride & Prejudice...

If you're having musicians, have them arrange or play a favorite song of yours.
  • I think I'll be walking in to "Brown Eyed Girl" by the Vitamin String Quartet (or a real string quartet if we can find/afford one). That's my only idea for it....no idea about anything else. My DJ looked at me like I was nuts when he asked what song I wanted for the processional, recessional, cake cutting, anniversary dance, etc. and I had no ideas. It shall be interesting!
  • Thanks everybody, I'm definitely going to look all of these up!

"Here Comes the Sun" by a string quartet was our recessional.  So pretty!

  • We have a violin and guitar duo. The family is walking down to "Moon River", the wedding party is walking to "The Rainbow Connection" and my dad and I are walking to A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (from Cinderella). For the recessional, we're doing "Marry You" (by Bruno Mars) - should be fun and a little cheesy. Like me.

This is the song I want to walk in to and I have a friend who can sing it.

  • My processional will be a string quartet playing Edelweiss. Not sure about the Recessional yet.
  • Look up "Our Love" by Paul Cardall if you like piano music.
