Recurring Online RSVP Error

Hi,

My fiance and I have asked our wedding guests to respond to our wedding invitations exclusively via the RSVP option on our wedding website on theknot.com. Unfortunately, a number of our guests are receiving the below error and are, therefore, unable to respond promptly or uniformly.

Is anyone else having this issue? I've emailed theknot.com customer service, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

The error has shown up on multiple browsers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Here is the text of the error along with screenshots:

---

Server Error in '/PWP' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current
custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the
application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons).
It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server
machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be
viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within
a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the
current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its
"mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
   <system.web>
       <customErrors mode="Off"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a
custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the
application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom
error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
   <system.web>
       <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

---

Thanks!

T

  • I have foud a sloution that works that may not work for everyone. I noticed that when I was signed in on the knot and used the rsvp form it worked without any issues (when signed in and viewing the rsvp page it should have an edit button on the bottom). However, when I was on another computer or logged out and attempted to use the rsvp form, I would receive the runtime error. I already have a wedding website I created however I wanted to use The Knots rsvp form to make it easy. So in order to get the rsvp form to work I used the link in the address bar that shows up when you are signed in instead of the free link given (i.g. smithAndalcorn.ourwedding.com). The link I used look something like this;
    http://uw.theknot.com/view/8320598035849371
    I assume your numbers should be different. Now I have no problems and my rsvp form works fine. Hope this helps. Should work if you have your own website. I would suggest that anyway since I the Knots maybe easy they are not the most appealing. Many easy to use options out there. Wordpress being one of them.
