Does a Fall wedding have to have autumn colors?

I'll be getting married in November of this year, and do not want to use the traditional fall colors of golds/maroons/browns, etc.... I live in SW Arizona where we don't even have seasons anyways. It's green all year long, and will probably still be 90 degrees in November. I love the neutral/peach/grey color scheme that has been popular now, do you think it'd be good to use in the fall? Thanks!

You can use whatever colors you want in any season. The only time I think it would look odd is if you got married at, say, Christmastime and had red, white, and blue colors in a sort of obvious July 4th way.  Happy planning!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

There's no reason you have to have fall colors just because your wedding is in the fall.  I agree with Addie that if you used a color scheme that is obviously associated with another time of the year, it would look odd, but if it's just for a season, you can use any color scheme that makes visual sense.
  • I also am getting married in November of this year. I am not having fall colors. My colors are purple pink and silver. Go with what you want and do not worry about the season.
    Good liuck
  • I wouldn't worry about the season.  Your wedding is supposed to be about you and the idea that you have maybe been thinking about since you were little.  I think your colors should be a reflection of that.  So if peach and grey is what you want...go for it!  Good luck and bst wishes.
  • I'm getting married the last weekend of October and using peacock feathers and navy blue. There are no rules :)

There are no rules about colors.  If your wedding is outdoors, sure there are colors that will work better with fall leaves, but that's really not the biggest issue in the world.

For the record, my colors were gold and silver.  I knew they would be since I was 12, no matter what the season, come hell or high water.

  • I'm having the same problem in a way. I'm getting married the first weekend in September & I'm thinking of going with coral, but I was worried it would look funny in Fall.

Everyone keeps telling me to pick whatever I want:) Happy planning!

</div><div>I wouldn't worry about having fall colors in early September.  That is technically still summer and unless you are in Canada the chances of hot and humid weather is high.

  • I agree with everyone else, just pick the colors you want to have in your wedding.  Mine is in late October of this year and my colors are Purple and Silver.

    True! :) I really like coral's & pinks:) I think that's what I'll go with.
  • I'm getting married in October - and told my FH shortly after we got engaged that we would absolutely not have a wedding that reflects what season it happens in. So. No pumpkins, no orange/browns/reds/etc for us.
  • Girl, I know there are all these "rules" but let's face it, they're all bullsh*t. There are no rules when it comes to your wedding except the one rule that it should be what you want it to be. If you want spring colors in winter, fine. If you want your bridal party to wear clown costumes, then that's your perogotive. This is your day and no arbitrary fashion/social rules should get in the way of that.
  • It's your day, do what you want! I am having a fall wedding and my colors are navy and yellow. So, not particularly fall, but they work.
