Plus size wedding dresses in Atlanta?

Hello everyone,
I just got engaged and am scared to death to go look at dresses!  Do you have suggestions about where to go in the greater Atlanta area that has plus size sample dresses you can try on?  I am currently a size 18W.
Thank you in advance for the help!

Check out Bridal Sense - - http://www.bridalsense.com/showcase/index.php#.UWDSGMpvBnQ shows current inventory of what they have to order or purchase off the rack -- - GREAT PRICES!!
  • You MUST go to Carrie's Bridal Boutique in Chamblee! They have sizes up to 28-and believe me, there are ALOT of dresses to try on in your size! Her dresses are one of a kind- Carrie designs all the dresses herself. And all dresses are $1000 or less. It is by appointment only-so when you shop for your dress-you're the only one there. It sounds too good to be true-but it's not! I'm a plus size bride as well (size 18) and I just purchased my dress from Carrie. Check out her facebook page...
  • In Response to Plus size wedding dresses in Atlanta?:

Number 1- STAY AWAY FROM DAVID'S BRIDAL IF YOU ARE LARGER THAN A SIZE 12! In my opinion, NONE of their dresses give us P.H.A.T. girls the support we need to hold in/up our goodies! I hate to see brides with their breast and tummies lacking the neccessary support to look stunning! And a summer wedding (like mine) is not suitable for layers of spanx, gerdles, and an extra corset! I'm already big and getting married in August! The last thing I need is to be sweating like an animal before I put on my dress! IJS

With that being said, I had the exact same fear of finding the right dress! Most bridal boutiques boast that they carry sizes 2-30, but when you arrive and are larger than a size 10 (which seems to be a size 6 wedding dress) They attempt to clamp you in a iddy biddy dress and "invision" how it would look on you 10 sizes larger!! HATED IT! I'm not buying anything that I can't get a full vision of! Sorry!!

However, one place that TRULY had a large variety of dresses in sizes 0-30 was New Natalie's Bridal! I will warn you that this is not your traditional wedding dress shopping experience, but I encourage you to try them out! They have an amazingly friendly staff and so many dresses for you to pick from! They even section off their store by dress type which makes your search a lot easier (don't know about you, but looking at a white dress in a bag and trying to figure out the cut is stressful!)

Happy WD shopping and I hope this helps!
  • I ordered my dress online and it is PERFECT.. Go to www.persun.com
You send in your exact measurments after picking what dress you want, and they hand make it, and it is at your doorstep within 3 weeks.
  • Oh and they are cheap cheap cheap.. I got my dress for $169.99 and it is made of Chiffon material.
