Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Music Ideas...Please!

I'm getting married in about two months and am stumped on music for most of the important moments. I want something fun and preferrably country, but it doesn't have to be.

I still haven't figured out anything for the following and could really use some help.

Groom's processional

Bridesmaids processional

Brides walk

Bride and Groom Entrance

Cake Cutting

And any other must haves for the reception

Please Help

Re: Music Ideas...Please!

  • Few ideas that come to mind:

    Groom's processional

    My Wish- Rascal Flatts

    Wanted- Hunter Hays

Making Memories of Us: Keith Urban

God Blessed the Broken Road- Rascal Flatts

Could Not Ask For More- Edwin McCain (or sarah evans)

    Bridesmaids processional

typically, the groom, family and bridesmaids can all use one song, but ay of the above would work but some other "girl" songs:

I will be there for you- Jessica Andrews

    From This Moment- Shania Twain

    Brides walk

It's not country, but I am using "Marry Me" from Train.

A lot of the ones mentioned above would be great for a bride too (bless this broken road, from this moment, wanted)

    Today was Fairytale- Taylor Swift

    Ever After- Carrie Underwood

    My Hallelujah Song- Julianne Hough

    Bride and Groom Entrance

My Kind of Party- Jason Aldean

    Stuck Like Glue-Sugarland

    Here for the party-Gretchen Wilson

    This is Our Time-Kenny Chesney

    Cake Cutting

can't think of a good country song, but some options are:

pour some sugar on me- Def Leopard

    How Sweet It Is

    Sugar Pie Honey Bunch

Love & Marriage- (married with children theme)

Grow Old With You (adam sandler)

And any other must haves for the reception

First Dance: My Everything (keith urban) Its Your Love (Tim McGraw) or any of the processional songs mentioned above.

Wedding Party entrance: Ladies love country boys (trace adkins)

Bouquet Toss: This one's for the girls (martina mcbride) or country girls (jason aldean)

Father/Daughter: My Little Girl (Tim McGraw) Then They Do (Trace Adkins) I loved her first (heartland)

My Wedding is June 1st! Our weddings are almost here!! For the grandmothers and moms we're using Mama's Song by Carrie Underwood, for the Bridesmaids and myself we are using A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. So far I haven't figured out unity candle. I've thought about Today as a Fairytail by Taylor Swift for the recessional. For the reception we are talking about Lost in This Moment With You by Big and Rich or My Kind of Crazy by Brantley Gilbert, mother/son possibly Do I make you proud by Taylor Hicks, Father/Daught we are using Dance Baby Dance by Chris Cagle. Good Luck with everything, Hope you have an amazing wedding day!

Google has a lot of nice articles with endless lists of wedding songs.  You might search for "country processional," "cake cutting songs," etc.  I have found a lot of great music that way.

PPs have some really good suggestions!

    ETA: clarity
