In a workout Rut

I was hoping for some advice. I recently got extra hours for work to help pay for the wedding. When I get home I am to tried to workout. My wedding will be in September and I have to go down one full dress size to fit into my dress. I was hoping if anyone has gone through this and knows what to do or what can help me out.

  • I'm not sure what your work schedule is, but have you tried working out in the mornings? Maybe you could try waking up a little earlier than usual, having a quick snack like a banana then hitting the gym or going for a brisk walk, then do some crunches, lunges, push-ups right before you hop in the shower. If you're not much of a morning person it will be hard to get used to but believe me it's worth it! I think you'll find you have much more energy throughout the day and no matter what comes up, you already got your workout in that morning!

Hi ymart003! I know you can do this because your wedding is too important for you not to do it :)

If working out after work is not good for your schedule, then it appears that the morning is your best option. Remember, you can get a really good workout in in only about 30 min, so it is not a huge time committment to get up a little earlier because the payoff will be so worth it!

  • How about going for a brisk 10-15 minute walk on your lunch break, to get a small bit of exercise in during the day?  Then you could do more in the morning/evening?
  • I second the PP, Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred is fantastic. It says it's 20 minutes, but it's closer the thirty - but that's all OK. Since you have a few months, work your way up the toughness of the DVD slowly. You can do this. The hardest part is the timing, and reassuring yourself that you don't have to go past your limit.

Also, walk at your lunch break, or to dinner at least three times a week. You'll drop that size with plenty of time left.
