when we bought the house, there was this cabinet in the kitchen. they used it as a home office. it was styled like the kitchen: same cabinetry, same trim and knobs. when we were negotiating price, we put down our lowest bid and asked them to throw in the cabinet. they agreed.

i honestly didn't know what i was going to do with the cabinet -- i have a lot of cookware but i also have a lot of furniture. i finally decided i would make it my baking cabinet. it had cutouts in the back for outlets, so i could hook up my mixer, and there were a bunch of little cubbies for my little baking supplies.

outside -- with the child lock, which is mostly psychological, really. my glorious butcher block is next to it; i need to put wheels on it. we are storing all of our art next to it while we figure out what is going where.

inside -- it fits pretty perfectly! on the inside left of the door, i put two tiny clothespins to hold whatever recipe i am working on.

the baking sheets, cake pans and cutting boards are all on drawers that slide out, so i can easily access them. the baking sheets are kept upright by a file sorter, and sit in the former printer tray. the cake pans are in the paper drawer, and the cutting boards are on the keyboard drawer.
