seeking advice on microphone for outdoor ceremony w/no electricity

Does anyone have any advice for miking an outdoor ceremony where there is no power?
The ceremony will be probably 300-400 ft from the closest power source. Are there alternatives to using a gagillion power cords hooked to an amp while also not having the noise a generator would supply? Is it common for dj's to have this sort of equipment?

Also, what is the protocol for the mike with the couple getting married? We are writing our own vows. Do we need to be miked or just our officiant? I really don't want to have pics of me speaking into a mike. Wireless would be preferable if we (bride and groom) are wearing one.

Our DJ took care of the microphone/power situation for us. I think the poor source was about 50-75ft away.

We didn't have an officiant, so we just had a stand mic at the front. The readers stood in front of it, when we said our vows we turned the mic around to face us. It worked well enough. We had about 90 people, about 7 rows of chairs, everyone was able to hear.

We had an outdoor ceremony with no mic. There were a few times when people in the back didn't hear my partner's vows, but otherwise, it wasn't a big deal.

If you, your FI, and your officiant can project your voices well, you should be able to forgo a mic.

Are you close enough to your venue to test it out?

Go to your venue with your FI. One of you stands at the "altar," the other stand where the farthest possible chair would be. See if you can hear each other comfortably.

We probably could have gotten away without one, but the baseball fields are close to where we got married and we didn't want to risk not being able to hear because of a game.
