Major Award Show same day as my wedding in Vegas--now freaking out

Hi All,

So my future MIL just texted me last night to say that the CMA's are on the same night as my wedding in Vegas and that rooms are already starting to get booked up and the prices of hotels are way more expensive than usual, so now I am freaking out that no one will come to our wedding due to the cost of coming now! I literally had a panic attack last night in the middle of the night over this- just needed to express my freak out....

    I wouldn't worry too much, the CMA's don't attract many more people than a big boxing event or a small convention.  Prices, however, will likely go up at all the hotels near where the vent will be held because they know people will want those rooms.

    Yeah, I heard it was at the MGM which is of course where we wanted to stay, but oh well....

    I have one at our actual venue- The Platinum, but it sounds like most guests want to stay somewhere with a casino in the hotel, so I will look into your idea @allyscud. Do you have a link or information?

    We once went to Vegas when the BMA and a big boxing match were being held and the rooms weren't more expensive. It's not like when it's NASCAR or ICES. You should be fine :)

    I was in vegas last year at the cma. Advise to book early and stay away from downtown. We stayed at the nugget Fremont was crazy and a little scary. Side note if not for Fremont I wouldn't be getting married

    But the strip was fine a little crowded and tables weren't cheap but that's about all that stood out for me

    The only problem with total expierence room blocks is that if you don't use at least 5 rooms, the people who did book will have there rates raised at checkin. So make sure you know you will use at least 5

    My rep definitely forgot to tell me this! I don't think we will have a problem meeting the requirement though.
