Registry Etiquitte Help!

Hello!

My husband and I just recently got married (6 months ago). At the time he was fresh in the military, and about to start his training for his job field. I was living with my mom to save money, so we did not create a wedding registry with anyone because we didn't have any place to store items. My husband is about to finish his training, and recieve his duty station orders in the next couple of months. We are very excited, for not only being together as husband and wife, but as a family with our son. However, we are literally starting from scratch when it comes to basic household needs. My question here is, would it be appropriate to create a registry even though we have been married for 6 months?

I would NOT create a wedding registry but I personally do not see a problem with having a housewarming registry. I would keep it smaller than a wedding registry and keep it to things such as sheets, towels, and other household items, etc.

You shouldn't really host your own house warming party. And no, you shouldn't register 6 months later. You can, however, host a celebration of your recent marriage and "welcome" party and if people ask you if you need anything, you can certainly tell them. Or, you can have a family member spread your needs by word of mouth.

PS - you also spelled "realize" and "address" wrong. I think most browsers have spellcheck these days.

Thank you for that! I agree. A part of me feels that by creating a registry, of any sort, seems almost greedy or as if we would be "begging". Which neither of us want to come across as.

Normally I am decent at spelling. But i'm also typing fast, and it's late where I am. No spell check either.

I agree, I think creating a registry this late in the game would seem very gift grabby.

P.S. - I only pointed out your spelling errors because you seemed concerned about it.
