What about returning belts at bridal salons?

I got excited when I bought my dress and I also purchased a beaded belt to go with it. I'm thinking I can do better than what I purchased. I'm hoping to bring this up when my dress comes in this November. I was just curious if anyone had any luck with accessories? I know dresses are big no-nos on returns, but are they the same when it comes to belts?

  • Call the shop and ask. I'm guessing the answer will be no, but you won't know until you ask.
Probably the sooner the better. I'm not sure if they have a high turnover rate with accessories, but I know some stores won't take anything back after certain time as elapsed.
Worse comes to worse sell the old one on craigslist.

I think both belts are very pretty and go nicely with your dress.

  • Why wouldn't you just call the shop and ask?
  • If not sell on TK classifieds.

Because I can't right now, so I'd rather make a thread on the internet and ask them when I can.

  • I actually like the first one more - it coordinates better with the crystals on the bow on the back :-)

Thanks, I liked it a lot too when I bought it. Since then, my wedding's mood has become more romanic and floral and I now feel like it's a little too formal. I originally thought I wanted a dress with a tulle skirt and a sash with flowers on it. The dress I got felt so much better, but didn't go with the belt I originally wanted. Of the total of two belts they brought out for the dress, I liked this one more, but probably decided a little too quickly.

  • If they won't give you a refund maybe they can give you a store credit that you can use towards your dress or other items you might be able to get from the store.
