Adding a small personal note to invitation?

There is one person in particular that will be invited to our wedding that I haven't seen for quite some time, but that I really want to attend. Our correspondence has been spotty through the years since high school 20+ years. Actually, she lived in the same foster home I was in and the rest of our "sisters" (four) will be in attendance. The last couple times I spoke with her, she said she definitely wanted to come and we talked about how great it will be having all the sisters together for such a happy occasion.

She's had a rough couple years so at our last conversation she said she was really looking forward to coming. I haven't spoken with her in a while and probably won't have any major discussions with her between now and the wedding. What I'm wondering, is it ok to add a personal note inside her invitation just basically saying how much I'm looking forward to seeing her and hoping she will still be able to attend?

  • I don't see why not.

By the way, your thread title at first made me think that you were asking if you could indicate on the invitation that someone can't do something because "note" is misspelled.
  • Go for it. I'm sure she'll actually appreciate that :)

I think a personal note would be lovely.

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.
  • I think that's very sweet.
