Bridesmaid Dresses from Etsy

So I love a lot of the things I see on Etsy, but have never actually ordered anything from it. I really love these for my bridesmaid dresses.

But I am not familiar with ordering off of etsy ... is it a risk that you will not get the product you are looking for / can't necessarily trust the seller, such as with EBay? And I apologize if anything similar was posted - I did do a quick search.

Also, do you like them?

All I immediately saw was that it ships from China. I would not order anything from China.

I agree with PP. You could find dresses like that at David's Bridal or something instead of taking a risk and buying only, from China, and not knowing what the dresses will be like until they arrive.

Yeah, that particular one is questionable to me as well because it doesn't have reviews yet. However I will say that I have ordered things from China before...haha

I bought from etsy from time to time because I am into steampunk and if you want something personalize + unquie, etsy is the place. I would buy from someone who has more feedback and closer from home.

Okay, thank you for your response.There's another one that is also from China, but seems to have some good feedback with very similar dresses - still from China though, so I don't know.

I looked at David's Bridal online and really just don't like anything I am seeing there. JCrew has one I like but it may be a bit pricey. I may try these on Etsy, I will see how brave I'm feeling.

I've bought a number of things from Etsy (art, jewelry) but always from a US-based seller with good reviews/feedback. My expericence was excellent. However I would be very sketical of something shipping from China, as others have said, especially with no reviews/feedback.

There are a couple good sellers from USA/Canada on etsy that will do custom design but bare in mind most of them don't allow return thou. Since I am from Canada, I always prefer to buy from Canada plus I don't have to pay a fortunate if I need things to send back for fix.

I'm pretty sure the two dresses that are the same in that picture are this dress from Davids Bridal and it's only $15 more than the Etsy site.

Just make sure the color you are going to be order is the color you want because there's some color difference between computers and photos especially the one that is taken by a professional. Do you want me to recommend a few seller on etsy for you?

I am looking on Etsy as well for my BM dresses and would not use someone from China. It is always iffy and you see tons of articles out there on Brides being scammed from wedding dresses from China, what would make these any different? There are tons of sellers from the US and Canada on there that we should support IMHO.

I love shopping on Etsy. I've never had a problem, so I'm not sure what happens if you do have one.

There are some very similar dresses at David's. You could check those out if you would feel more comfortable.

These dresses are from David's bridal. The one on the right is what my girls are wearing. I'm pretty sure the picture is from the David's bridal catalog as well.

I wouldn't trust it if it's coming from China. I ordered a beaded sash from a china site and it was horrible.
