  Buy one package of 200 petals. Have her practice. If you like how it looks, don't buy another package. If you want more, buy another.

  Keep in mind, someone will have to clean up all of the petals.

  Does the venue allow this?  Many have started to ban this because of the clean up that pp mentioned.

  @itzMS is spot on - measure out 100 ft on the sidewalk and have her do whatever she feels comfortable doing and see how far she gets with one pack.

  I think one will be fine. My daughter was a flower girl last year and she had 50 petals for a 40 ft. aisle and it was plenty.

  I bought my flower petals online for like $3 a pack. The silk flowers are ridiculously cheap!

  My venue did not allow for our flower girl to throw flowers. I gave her a mini bouquet that was identical to mine. She LOVED it because she felt like one of the big girls (she is 5).
