  If possible, I would wait until closer to the wedding and buy off the rack at David's Bridal.  It will help your friend know an approximate size since bodies can change dramatically during pregnancy.  If she buys anything that is knee length, she should ask for extra length on the bottom.  My friend was 6 months pregnant at my wedding.  She had the entire dress fitted except for the hem.  The seamstress did that the last week before the wedding, my friend knew of the possibility of being pregnant at my wedding, so she thought ahead and ordered extra length for her dress since it was knee length.

  I actually have TWO bridesmaids that are pregnant - one will be nearly 8 months, and one will be 6 months (One of them was pregnant in a previous wedding, which helped figuring this stuff out).  When we went shopping, they store said that most dresses can be adjusted accordingly - you just need to order around 2 sizes bigger, and not get any adjustments made until just before the wedding so you are at your actual size.  Also - just make sure the dress isn't fitted in the belly area, otherwise that will be very difficult to fit.
