Wedding Woes

New Year's Resolutions?

Anyone have some?

I don't normally, but this year I have two:
1. Take better care of myself- haircuts, paint my nails, real clothes, workouts
2. Don't waste.  I was getting pretty bad about things just sitting in the frig and getting dumped.  Turkey Wednesday is getting leftovers tonight, 6 more dinners, turkey salad for lunches this week, and 30+ cups of turkey stock.

Re: New Year's Resolutions?

  • 1. Continue not giving a damn about many things, as it's better for my mental health.

    2. Work really hard to prepare my body for parasite hosting.

    3. Spawn a mewling infant.

  • 1. Take better care of myself, for sure.
    2. Sell this damn house and get into a bigger one.
    3. Stick to our budget better and cut expenses.
  • I don't do New Year's resolutions, but I do have ongoing goals:

    1. be more open-minded and flexible, and less judgmental of others
    2. make the best of my job, which I don't love
    3. try to stay positive in the face of infertility
    4. get back in shape

Our big one as a couple is to buy less stuff and have better experiences.
  • 1.  Stop being who I think other people want me to be---and just be Crazy.  ALL THE TIME.
    2.  Save Monies
    3.  Have fun
  • My biggest goal is organization.  I've done a lot or purging, sorting and organizing lately and while I still have more to do, I want things to stay more orderly.  I usually get into organize mode a couple times a year and then slack off until I can't take it anymore.  I need to just keep up with all of it all the time.  I also need to get the kids to understand why things need to be organized, but I know it starts with me.
  • 1.  Change our attitudes about money.  We've identified the problems this year, so now it's working on fixing them.

    2.  Find another way to reward ourselves that doesn't involve food or alcohol.  We want to change our mindsets from, "Yay, we won/received/did X, let's go out to indulge to celebrate" to "..let's go to our favorite trail/for a run/Zumba/walk the dogs" or something else.

    3.  Be outside even more this year than we were last year.
  • ongoing efforts:

    lose weight/get physically fit
    save all the monies
try not to overthink it at work while still putting in effort

    Additional goals:
get my leg healed up from nerve problems
    write book
marry FI (without turning my hair as white as my dress)
    start a new degree program
get the fellowship to help pay for the degree program
