Things I'm excited about today

1. FI got an offer for an externship at a major firm for this semester (WHAT!!!!)

2. I got my bonus check

3. It's Day 1 of VS Semi-Annual sale

ALL THE YES!

Re: Things I'm excited about today

  • Congrats!

The VS semi-annual sale annoys me. They have one like every 2 months. It's like the David's Bridal $99 sale.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Preach. I always buy my stuff from VS on sale though so the semi sale does nothing for me... especially if I don't need to be spending money. Sigh

  • I'm excited that my invites are basically done, minus cutting out inserts and addressing envelopes.

NWR: uhhhh.... it's almost the weekend. That's about it. haha

  • Or the Macy's one-day sale that they host weekly. I used to be all-VS, but now I have switched to all Gap undies- they are the best!

  • I'm excited to try the apple pie moonshine my friend dropped off this morning. She is doing some project that involves coal mines and the miners sent her home with a few jugs of it so she gave one to me.
  • I'm excited to walk in the door tonight, strip down to my underwear, open a really expensive bottle of red wine, and pray for a WFH snow day tomorrow.

  • Update: We just got an e-mail telling us to prepare for an "inclement weather day" tomorrow! Definitely excited for a possible couch day!

  • Oooooo! I want a snow day too! But it's unlikely :( womp womp womp....

  • I'm excited today because it was the grand opening of our new shop! We have been busting our buns for the 2 weeks through the holiday moving to a new/bigger location.  we hit a few bumps here and there so it was not 100% ready but customers were still here telling us "no rush, finish your things first." Customers have just dropped by to say hi and congratulations, and one customer even sent us flowers! I am in love with my new office and  I love our little town and how supportive the community is to us.  It is a great feeling to see a business grow :)

and then I am excited because we got word this morning that we can move into our house on Saturday!  Double yay... its been too long since having a place of our own :) so this is just too exciting.  Although I am so tired from moving our business,  I will suck it up to get some space of our own!

So far the New Year is definitely off to a good start.

  • 1.)  I'm excited that my engagement ring is finally resized so I can finally wear it! :)
2.) We booked an appointment for a scheduled tour of a possible venue this Saturday.
    3) My mom offered to watch Arianna tomorrow while I work so that helps me save money on daycare. Woohoo!
  • 1) It's Friday!

    2) My hip and leg are feeling better! I think the resting, walking with a cane, and using a heating pad are helping a lot.

    3) I have my first fitting next week, and am meeting with the DJ on Monday

    4) The rings we ordered are on their way

    5) Despite having a long list of stuff to do, I have an awesome FI at home taking care of me and my leg injury, and two kitties that loooove to curl up and cuddle with me when it's cold outside (like it is now!)

  • @erinlin25 how exciting! What kind of shop is it? Congrats on expanding!

@Chipmunk415 what happened to your hip and leg? I missed that! Glad to hear you're feeling better though!

@tmclawchick, I thought I had sciatica before the pain moved into my calf and foot. Turns out, I hyperextended three of the peripheral nerves off the sciatic, resulting in acute inflammation. It's been painful to walk/put weight on the foot, plus I've numbness in the calf and toes and a lovely burning sensation at times. It's basically a freak accident-esque injury, normally happens only in serious car accident victims, and I managed to do it working out (because I'm just that awesome).

I can walk normally, but as I'm supposed to put as little weight/strain on the leg as possible, I've been told to use a cane to support myself, no exercise, and rest with it elevated as much as I can. The goal now is to not need a cane in 10 weeks when I walk down the aisle or during the reception, so lots of resting for me!

Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that but glad you're recovering! It sounds like you're in good hands with your FI and kitties taking care of you! :)

  • Well, FI (under orders from my mom) has threatened to tie me to the futon if I try to do too much around the house, so I don't have much of a choice :) The kitties are always good, though one will tap me and meow for treats, and the other will pat my face for petting if I'm trying to sleep. It's adorable, so I suffer through it :D
  • I'm vertical! Since I had/have the flu, that's something to be really excited about. I'm definitely on the upswing, which means I'll be good to watch football this weekend without falling asleep.

It's Friday and I don't have to work this weekend.

Today I can work on catching up on my class for most of the day.

They're little, but that's what I'm excited about today.
  • I'm excited that it's Friday and I'm leaving early to spend some time with my sister before she returns to the west coast for school. We're going to a ceramic painting studio and I'm super excited to do that.

Though H's job position is part-time he's been getting full-time hours for the past month. It's really helping our budget.

It's supposed to get a *little* warmer this weekend so I can take furbaby out the park for some exercise and a play date with his buds.

I'm going to stay home this weekend and do a deep cleaning of the kitchen and bedroom and offset that with studying. It may sound dull but I am thrilled with the prospect of being productive.
