Some one shake some sense into me please.
Back in mid-August, all of my bridesmaids ordered their bridesmaid dresses from David's Bridal. My mother was with us at the time and she had said to EVERYONE that if anyone needed alterations to their gowns, she could do them for FREE. All of the gowns were delivered and each girl has their gown. With that said, about a month and a half ago, I emailed all of my girls with some updates on the wedding planning progress. In the email I asked if anyone was going to need alterations. I knew off the top of my head that 2 of my girls are going elsewhere and the other 3 would likely take my mother up on her offer. 2 of the 3 I knew would take my mom up on the offer have already told me. My FSIL didn't say ANYTHING, but, FMIL stepped in and said that she was going to take FSIL to get the alterations done at David's Bridal. OK, no problem. Less work for my mom.
Well, FSIL texted me the other day saying she and FMIL were going for her fitting and to order her shoes on Thursday (last night). I said ok and reminded her, nicely, that the color is canary yellow (or any version of yellow - so long as it's YELLOW) for the shoes. She said ok. Well, she called me last night to tell me she ordered her shoes and to say that her dress "needed a major amount of alterations and that they are ordering her a smaller gown to see if that will work. The dress would be in by the middle to end of February." Of course I freaked out inside. I know David's Bridal is going to screw something up and either the dress won't be delivered in time or the alterations will be messed up in some way. I told her to do what she has to do and if they say that the smaller gown is too tight (which is why she ordered the next size up because the smaller gown was too tight on her - but then again, she could have lost weight so it could be ok) and that the alterations to the larger gown are going to cost more than the dress itself, to let me know because my mom can do it (and plus, she probably doesn't need that much done to the dress - DB has been known to over exaggerate). I'm beside myself in worry. Maybe I'm overreacting but OMG if her dress isn't delivered in time...wtf are we going to do?? I didn't think anything of this before because I thought my mom would handle all the alterations (Hello - she's FREE!!!!) and I wouldn't have to worry.
Argh. Please say I'm overreacting!!!!
