So what are you ladies doing for dinner?

I am making jambalaya with andouli sausage, a fresh spinach salad, johnny cakes from scratch, and cuisses de Grenoulli (French frog leg dish).

It smells so good I don't want to wait for FI to get home to eat! Lol

ETA: Also have oven fresh peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I may be nomming one while I wait...

Salmon patties, ( H loves them) rice pilaf, and green beans. I haven't started yet, and I really don't want to cook, but I'm hungry and H is pretty excited because I haven't made them in a while. Probably should get off TK now....

ETA: @firebabe6519, that sounds amazing :)
  • I came home to FI making chicken curry. He makes the best and it is pretty authentic. He used to work in an Indian restaurant to pay for college and the cook there gave him the recipe.
  • Yum I'm not sure what andouli sausage is but I love Italian sausage- is it similar? I made salmon topped with a strawberry, mango, and avocado salsa and side of cheddar rice. Can't wait to eat it again for lunch tomorrow!

  • Its like a spicy Louisiana sausage. So yummy!

That salsa sounds good... I might have to try something like that with the snapper I have in my fridge...
  • I did a knife skills class at my PD yesterday, so I have fresh made pico de gallo in the fridge.  We're having steak tacos tonight

  • It's clean out the freezer/fridge/pantry before we move cuisine.   Lunch was a chicken breast and frozen peas.   Dinner was pork tenderloin, roasted potatoes and frozen mixed veggies.

Apparently we bought a lot of frozen veggies the week before getting the offer.  They will be on the menu for most nights until we leave.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Sweet and sour chicken over rice.  I decided to go really easy since today is laundry day and couponing day.
  • Citrus-glazed chicken thighs, braised Chinese broccoli, and some buttered egg noodles. It's kind of a lazy night, and I don't feel like making anything complicated.

  • We're doing a cleaning out the pantry week while FSKs are on vacay with their moms so its just boring pre-made soup for me.  I'm super jealous about all of these yummy sounding meals!

    Anniversary
  • Thanks all, for making me ravenously hungry! FI is making pork chops with mustard cream sauce & dijon green beens. Apparently we're on a grey poupon kick.

  • Had leftover pot roast for dinner tonight. I bought a pre-marinated beef filet and threw it in the oven over the weekend, and it turned out amazing. Just loaded up on ramen noodles and wine for Atlanta SnowJam Part 2 - bring it on Mother Nature, I'm ready.

  • I want to do a tour of all your dinners.  FI and I both had a long day and a local pizza joint was doing a "Dine Out" fundraiser for her school, so we just ate there.  A also saw quite a few friends there and had several intense Foosball matches, so all in all, a successful night.

  • Wow OP, that sounds amazing!  I started dinner late because I went to the gym, and started knotting after lol. I'm in the process of making ground turkey with whole wheat pasta. Fast and simple meal tonight.

  • FI brought home some shredded cabbage and carrot on Monday night, so last night I made fried chicken nuggets, mash and gravy, and coleslaw. It was delicious, and kicked my KFC craving!
