  They can look real. But they are usually similar in price to just buying a real cake.

  Ditto QF.  The decorating is the expensive part, so if you want a prettied up faux cake, it's probably not going to save you much.  It doesn't hurt to price out your options with some local bakeries though.

  a fux cake would cost you just as much as a real cake. your better off getting a small cake so you and your fi can cut into it and then serving cupcakes to everyone else
