City Hall wedding in New York

I have booked a my honeymoon with it starting with a trip to NYC to get married first.  I did this with City Hall in mind but now wondering about the realities of it. Is it correct that the ceremonies are not actually in the City Hall building?  Should I expect a long queue?  Does anyone have any experience or advice they could please give me.  Many thanks, Lucy

    I was thinking about a city hall wedding too.  I'm told they are little rooms they use.

    Thats what I also heard. Although I have heard good things about the refurbishment of the rooms for elopements. My main concern is a long wait....but then I wonder how busy would it really be on a friday afternoon!  When is your wedding?
