Upgrading the e-ring?

Re: Upgrading the e-ring?

  • To each their own. It's a personal decision that the two of you have to make and either way, it's your business. If you do upgrade it doesn't mean that it means any less to you.

Personally? Not a fan. I would much rather have a fun piece or go on a trip instead. And in my snarky opinion there comes a point as far as size goes, where it looks comical and well 2 carats is probably right around that. JMO.

I guess I would understand his fixation more if he'd gone and bought a really cheap inexpensive tiny ring because that was all he could afford at the moment- but it sounds like you already have a very nice, quite large ring.

  • I posted above that it's not something I would do, but wanted to say that I'm not judging those who do. To me, it's not worth the extra money. It's really something that is out of my control, meaning if my DH really wanted to do it, I can't really stop him! It's certainly not something I would pursue. If I doubled the size of my center stone, I could easily buy a home with the amount of money it would cost. To me, I'd rather have that money for an early retirement, around the world trip, or as I said, another home. However, I totally get that people's circumstances change through the years and when they have more, they want to do things they couldn't do before or just give their loved one a super special gift.
