Making your own blingy shoes.

Hey ladies, I was thinking of making my own blingy shoes. I have looked at some youtube videos for inspiration. But, I know that many on this site have created their own shoes. I figured I can get first hand advice and help from you. If you have a preference for a certain glue, rhinestone size, best fabric the stones adhere to, etc. Thank you in advance ladies.

Re: Making your own blingy shoes.

  • No advice but I am considering doing the same.  I want split sole ballet slippers for the reception... but I want to decorate them.  My dress is long so you won't see them that much anyway but I just wanted something unique.  My plan right now is to go to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, AC Moore, or wherever and just roam the aisles until I find what I want to do with them. If a few decorations come off as the night goes on... oh well... but I am NOT using glitter.  That makes a mess... and if you seal it, it makes the shoe hard which defeats the purpose.  We used to alter our pointe shoes for recital (I was a dancer all through high school) so I've had some experience playing with them.

  • I am also wondering the way to make my own shoes. I think it will be a good memory to do it myself. Though I don't have any advice, I support your idea.
