Dumb, dumb, dumb

Just when I thought I may pull this wedding off without any major blunders...

I started receiving RSVPs back last week. I was glancing through the replies when I noticed that our RSVP date looked a bit...off.

Yep, our RSVP date is April 31. There is no April 31.

Granted, I didn't pick the date, our wedding planner did (she's a whole other story), and the stationer put it on there, but I proofed it, and approved it, and now I feel like an idiot.

So...what did you overlook that made you feel dumb?

  • D'oh!

I ordered WAY too many STDs. I don't know what I was thinking. Not every person needs theirs own. Obviously we were sending them to couples!

Idk how into crafts you are but I'd be tempted to do some sort of paper craft with the leftovers so that they don't go to waste.  It could also be a cute keepsake if it turns out nice!

  • One of my law professors assigned us a brief due April 31. No one realized it until the next class and then of course we were all clamoring to have it due May 1st instead of the last day of April!

Unfortunately they're magnets. I don't know how much I could do with them.

I have about 150 magnets left over since we ordered more than we needed in the first place (saved money by ordering in bulk) and then didn't send any to DH's side of the family because I still didn't have their guest lists.
    Anniversary
  • Hey, mod podge something on the front of those magnets and you've got Christmas (or whatever) presents!

My invites say "together with our parents" instead of "together with their parents" and if anyone mentions it I will punch them.
  • So far my biggest overlook was my failure to have FI run his guest list by his parents before we sent out StDs. He spent the following six weeks adding one or two additional people per week that he had forgotten. Love how much that added to the guest list!
  • FI and my last names are not on our STD's.  We both proofed it and so did my mom before I clicked the "order" button.  Oh well. Luckily STD's only go to the VIP's that know us very well and would anticipate it in the first place!

  • LOL! When I ordered my invitations, I didn't think about margins. So we go to have a stuffing party only to realize that the invitation and guest information card are too big for the pocket! I had to go buy a paper cutter to make it work.
