My neice is to marry her partner and we are trying to do this right....should it be a bridal shower for the one and a bachelorette party for the other, we are confused, need imput as family is pressuring as to which one gets which so we can proceed with the planning.....help...

You might just want to do joint parties for both, unless you have reason to believe their preferences are otherwise. After all, if there were only one bride, she'd probably have both a shower and a bachelorette.

Just ask them what they would like. They won't be surprised that both are being planned, and are hopefully not surprised at your questions.

My suggestion is joint bridal shower and seperate bachelorettes! It wouldn't be one or the other normally for a straight bride. I would be slightly bummed if my partner got the bachelorette party and I got the shower... not that I wouldn't be grateful for whatever someone would like to do for me.
