So... I bought this bathing suit this weekend.  It was only $8.98 @ Target.  My friend talked me into it.

Let me tell you, I am a little terrified.  I have an hourglass figure, but I also have quite a few lbs to lose before I am at my "target weight".  Obviously, that won't happen in the next 40 days...  but this bathing suit was strangely flattering on my body.  It's so weird!  Well, it ain't cute from the back.  But I have 40 days to work on that part.  My FI will flip if I can pull this off.

    @jcbride2015  :) thanks.  By "quite a few" I meant "at least 40lbs" but I realize it is a little late to change that now.  It is comical from the back, tho.  Like, scary comical.  So that part will have to be improved, otherwise it was only $8.98 and FI never has to know it existed :)

    Ah i ordered one similar last week on a sale! Yay monokini (fraternal) twins!

    I have the same fears about how I'll look in it, especially since I haven't tried it on yet, but I feel like wearing the confidence is going to be sexier to FI than wearing the suit.

    Yeah, in the harsh lights of the Target dressing room, and at home, even, it was pretty hilarious.  Even sucking in I was thinking "oh boy, what have I done?!" but my bff took some pictures of me in it (with my phone) so I have those to reference for motivation.  And let me tell you, no filter = no bueno.  Hopefully he won't ask me why I'm standing so still...  I'll have to tell him that I can't move and he can't look at the back :)

    Darn!!!! I'll try again - it is a pic of Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman (I think it's from american Psycho). He looks like he just saw a really smoking girl, and he approves :)

    I'm sure you'll look wonderful in it, and you know what, if the only part you don't like about it is the back, that's a super easy fix.  You're right.  You're not going to lose a pound a day, but you don't need to anyway.  I'm not sure what your ideal weight is going to look like, but you actually seem happy as you are (minus the swimsuit you probably shouldn't have let your friend talk you in to simply because it's causing you anxiety).  If you don't like the way the back looks, have you thought about using a sarong or similar as a wrap?  Or maybe look for a black crochet shawl.

    I love that you're going to wear this.  You'll look great whatever happens so long as you feel sexy in it.  I've always wanted a monokini, but even though my doctor told me that if I tried to lose any weight, she'd start force feeding me (totally not fair, as I'm only at this weight because of a medical problem I've been having), and I'm still not even confident enough to try one on.

    Ha!  Maybe I should have been more clear.  I'm not worried about the back of the suit like the butt/leg area (I mean, it is nowhere near where I want to be, but it is so far away I've given up worrying about that!) - I'm talking about the bra-strap/back-fat area. :)  I've got to lose those wing-flaps otherwise this is not gonna look cute at all :)

    And OMG I bet you would look amazing in anything!!

    Thank you @PineapplePopsicles.  I had a feeling you were worried about the upper back area, but wasn't entirely sure.  Again, I think you could use a light wrap around your back and arms to cover it up if you're uncomfortable in it.  I'm sure no one except you would notice.  I guess the question is, do you trust the honesty and judgement of the friend who talked you in to buying this?  If yes, then you're probably way too worried about this than anyone else would be.

    I just can't get into monokinis, but it doesn't matter because I imagine the cut would never work with what I've got going on.
