Fire Island Wedding

Hello! My fiance and I would love to get married in Ocean Beach, Fire Island. We are considering either a beach or church ceremony with the reception at Maguires. I am most worried about the logistics of having it there (i.e. parking/transportation to ferry, elderly relatives getting around the island). Have any brides had a wedding there and encountered these or any other issues? Any advice? Thank you! Christina

    I am going to a wedding in Ocean Beach in late September at the Island Mermaid. The bride & groom have been nice enough to pay for everyone's ferry tickets - which I think is very generous. They took ferry times into consideration and are starting the party fairly early (I believe around 5:00). I'm not sure about parking. Their wedding is technically during the off-season so I'm sure that will help. Hotels are less expensive too!
