There's been an explosion... (AW pics in comments)

...of wedding shit. In my house.

Escort cards are printed, stamped, cut and folded. Favor tags are stamped and heat embossed. Programs are done. (I even designated a Program Attendant - her name is Basket. She will be accompanied by her assistant, Table.) Guest book is nearly finished. Vases are washed (thanks, FI!).

My living room is full of dusty miller and succulents. My sink is full of roses. My basement is full of spray roses. I have one more box of garden roses but I need more buckets.

My veil still isn't done. My ankle still hurts. I still have actual "work" work to do. But I'm getting there! Three days!

  • You've got this!! 3 days!
  • Wow, you've done a lot. The rule is, put away all the projects 24 hours before the wedding. Relax and enjoy your family and friends. OK?

  • Go, Lolo, go! It will all be worth it in the end!

You need "me" time. Give yourself time to recover between projects. Have wine on those breaks to keep everything in perspective.
  • I was really thinking you were going to say, "in my pants."
  • Hahaha, I knew it. You have a schedule, with your own self imposed deadlines, and you enjoy crunch time. What time will you be checking in on TK so we can all be here for your send off?

  • Sooooo exciting! And yes - wine has always been required! :-)

I'm 52 days away and feeling like it's taking over my world - I can't even imagine how awesome yet overwhelmed you feel right now!

Enjoy your pampering time and your time with FI and the friends/family at your rehearsal

    Squeeee!!!

Thanks my dear! So far they're calling for low 60's with light AM rain for good luck. :) Although if the forecast shifts and I get the 66 and sun called for Sunday, that'll be fine by me!

  • I heard Basket is a real whore. You'd better call her every 3 minutes to make sure she plans to show up on time.
She is pretty lazy. I mean, she just SITS there. And I'm pretty sure she's gained weight since I saw her last. And she has NOT gotten her shoe choice approved by me yet.

  • You won't have any rain on Saturday because we're getting ALL THE RAIN today. Seriously.

Ughhhhh no kidding! My aunt and cousins just got into Michigan from Texas though, and they are just enamored with the rain and green-ness! So it can rain today for them.

  • It does make everything look pretty, and I love the smell and fresh, cool breeze. :)

My house full of fresh flowers appreciates the drop in temps too!

My wedding was in late June 2014.  In about January, Wedding officially took over my home office... not just the desk, but the whole room.  Scattered about or in various piles I had flowers, OOT/welcome bags, lots of paper products, various ribbon, paints, glues, etc.  The room was completely unusable for any other purpose, including walking. DH was very tolerant of it with only the occasional snarky comments. By start of June, Wedding had taken over the living room coffee table. Under the table was the perfect place for paper cutters, scoring board, and my box of pens, glues, etc... mainly because the top of the table was covered with other supplies. Luckily, it only spread to the dining room table about a week before the wedding. Honestly, looking back on it makes me love DH even more for tolerating it so patiently.

It's now nearly 3 months since wedding.  All wedding remnants are at least in the office. I made a good attempt at cleaning it, to at least a useable state, about a month after wedding.  I still have a pile of unused specialty papers & stuff sitting on my desk, but it's all in one pile and in the corner out of the way. Any unused flower stuff & supplies I knew I would never use went to Goodwill. I still have to find a suitable home for my paper cutters & scoring board. I have a new door hanging shoe rack thing that is filled with various hole punches, rubber stamps, special pens, glues, etc. I still have a box of sprays, paints & tape that needs to find a home.  And I have a box with excess OOT bag items that I need to do something with. My goal is to have ALL wedding stuff cleaned up from my office by end of year.  If I can't clean it out within 6 months after wedding, that's bad.

  • I love your programs!

I hope Table doesn't have too much to drink at your RD.  That dude needs to be able to adequately support Basket, and we know what a flake that bitch is.

Mine looks pretty close to that! I have a craft room in the basement that has been overtaken by exactly zero things, because I've never unpacked/organized it since I moved in here last September. My FI is a saint. He just quietly restacks things to try and regain some order.

  • Yippee, I finally found a place to print photos on 12x12 cardstock! Even though the employee here didn't understand what margins or a bleed are. This guest book is getting done TONIGHT. I may not have a finished veil yet, but baby steps.

  • Lolo, as much paper as you craft, you need a good wide format printer that handles card stock. Buy one for yourself with wedding money, and then the wild rumpus of wedding and photo scrapbooking can begin. Also, I love the programs.

I really, really do. Life would be so much easier. And more papery, lol. And thanks!

Is it horrible for me to brag and say that I actually bought one? You can get decent inkjet that does up to 13"x19" for under $500. I still say that I NEEDED one at home for work purposes (I'm an architect, so lots of large format printing in my life).  My DH disagrees since I have the exact same one at work and in 3 years since I bought it, I've used the home one for actual work purposes only twice.  Now, I just need to convince him that I REALLY NEED to buy a large format, color, LASER printer for home... for work purposes, of course.

But, it was useful when I made my STD's, my wedding invites, my sister's wedding invites, and invites for my FIL's upcoming retirement party.  Although, for a lot of it I used the large format laser one at work for better quality.  But, I've totally saved more in printing costs than what we paid for the printer. I think the only way I'll be able to convince him that the large format laser printer is necessary and cost effective is if I actually go into the invitation business, which has actually been discussed.
