Uplighting?

How many of you bought your own uplighting rather than renting it?  Was it cheaper to buy or to rent from like a DJ or something?

    You can rent and set it up yourself for a little cheaper than the DJ probably here's a site.

    We're renting uplighting from our DJ.  He charges $30/light (I'm sure this will vary greatly depending on the DJ and the region) and is willing to work with budgets.  So, he'll give discounts on larger quantities or give small discounts per light. 

    The other thing to keep in mind is that part of that price includes set up and break down.  That is not something you'll want to deal with on the wedding day, so it's good to know someone else will take care of it.
