Vow Renewals

New rings??

my husband ask me last nite if we could or should buy new wedding bands. We got our wedding band at a pawnshop they are starting to show their age.. But I'm not sure I want go give them up but a new set sounds nice? Any thoughts?

Re: New rings??

  • I could never get a new wedding band, but maybe you can get an anniversary band? My wedding band is actually what is considered an anniversary band. It can be worn stackable with similar rings, on top of an e-ring, or on your right hand. If I were to get another ring as a gift, I'd wear it on top of my e-ring. Here is a picture to show you what it looks like, so you can see how versatile it can be:

  • I love it . I think we may do the anniversary band. I didn't know they even had anniversary bands. Thank you.
  • We are just doing a blessing of our current rings at our vow renewal. I still love them so much! (But we are just at 10 years, maybe at 20 or some other point, we'll buy anniversary bands.)

My wedding band is very similar to these, except it was not bought there. They are called eternity rings because the diamonds go all the way around and it is also to symbolize being "together forever."

  • There are no rules about this.  If you want new rings, then go fo rit.  Before you do, have you checked with a good local jeweler about spiffing up your rings?  After 25 years, I had to have my engagement ring re-done, due to wear and tear.

My parents' wedding bands were given to them from a friend who owned a jewelry shop. They were supposed to be purchased my another couple, even had their initials in them. My dad lost his ring (he's on his third) after 25 years my dad finally bought my mom a new wedding band - she had always wanted one that was intended just for her.

If you want a new ring I think it's entirely up to you! GL! :)
