Wedding Invitations & Paper

Sending Send the Dates to international guests?

My fiance is from another country, where Save the Dates are unusual (not even heard of). We will be marrying in that country, and I want to make sure I send the Save the Dates far in advance to the US guests so they can prepare for the trip. I obviously plan on sending invitations to everyone in advance, but I wonder if I should also send Save the Dates to family and friends back in that country. I'm worried that some may interpret it as a cheap, informal invitation. However, I don't want to send them to only half of our guests.
Thoughts???
Should we just send the Save the Dates to guests from the USA?

Re: Sending Send the Dates to international guests?

  • STDates are not necessary, so send them to whoever you'd like.  They should only be sent to people you are 100% certain you will invite because while you can send an invite without having sent a STDate, you CANNOT send a STDate without sending an invite.  So be super sure!
  • If you think it will confuse them, don't send them.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
