Addressing Children on the Invite

I'm not using an inner envelope, only an outer.   I am inviting a few children to the wedding and wanted to know if boys under 18 need to be addressed as "Master" or can I just put:

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
Thomas Smith

Addressing a young child as "master" just seem really old fashioned to me.  Can I use Mr. Thomas Smith?

  • Boys are only "Master" until age 12.

This is how I addressed my invites when kids were included.  It may not be correct, but I think it is fine to just put the kids name without a title.

  • I agree! Master seems so weird. I would throw "the proper way to do it" on this one right out the window. Mr. is totally fine.
