bridal shower invite wording

My future mother in law offered to chip in money for my bridal shower as well as my father. My bridesmaids are organizing the whole shower and taking care of decorations, invites, and etc. How should the invitation be worded? Does my mother in law get mentioned or still say "Hosted by the bridesmaids". My father isn't concerned about getting a shout out since he won't be attending.

Chipping in money doesn't make one a host, so unless your FMIL is also greeting guests, seeing to their needs, and making arrangements, I wouldn't list her as a host. Besides, the financial arrangements are none of the guests' business.
  • I would ask your FMIL if she wants to be listed as a host. Hosting doesn't just mean paying though, so she may get RSVPs from people, she might get logistics questions, etc.
