Wynn Wedding Salon Brides

Hello,

I just got recently engaged, so I'm new to this forum!  Before I even got engaged, I knew that I wanted to get married at the Wynn.  We both live outside of Washington DC so this will be a destination wedding for us.  We were aiming for a Summer 2016 wedding (Spring 2016 is too soon and we already have other commitments for Fall 2016) and after reading about how hot it can get in Vegas (even at night), we decided to opt for an indoor ceremony in one of their wedding salons.  I really wanted to get married in the Primrose Courtyard, but I don't want people to be miserable in the blistering heat.  Could any newly married brides be able to give me their review of the Wynn's wedding salons?  Did you also add any additional upgrades to the salon?

I look forward to hearing from everybody soon!  Thank you!

Wait, the Primrose is outdoors? I was always under the impression that it was inside!

There's not a whole lot of Wynn information around, but you should look for the review by @jixxt from just a few weeks ago, it was awesome.

I'm getting married at Primrose Courtyard in October and I visited on a scouting trip last year - it's gorgeous. I have Kabbie as my planner and have heard great things about the other planners too. The Wedding Salons were just redecorated at the end of last year and they look amazing, so I imagine you wouldn't need much additional décor. Which is good because the prices for floral are just crazy! That's the only downside I've discovered so far.

I'm also having our wedding dinner at Wynn, so let me know if you need any more info :)

Haha, yes @xoeden , Primrose is the outside area of the Wedding Salons, it's a courtyard that's all walled in - it's gorgeous.

  • I am getting married at the Wynn in November and also have Kabbie as my wedding coordinator.  She has been fantastic and either her or her assistant Sheena respond to my emails within 24 hours.  The Wynn is a bit more expensive but I feel that the actual locations themselves are so beautiful that you don't need to much decor.  As well if you discuss your budget with your coordinator they are very respectful about accommodating it.  I fell in love with the Primrose Court and will be getting married out there, however I was almost tempted to move my wedding to the indoor salons when I went on my scouting trip and saw them in person.  They are beautiful!
You can view actual weddings at the Wynn at this website which may help you in some of your own planning. :

My wedding coordinator is Becky Salvo and she's so sweet!  I'm so excited for you!  Are you having your wedding dinner at one of their restaurants or going through catering?

  • I always knew since the first time I stepped foot in the Wynn that I wanted to get married there.  I will look through the website.  Thank you for helping me out!  I'll be in Vegas next month so I'll be able to look at the wedding salons in person.

We've booked the private dining room at Lakeside restaurant for the meal since there's only 25 of us, we're working with Crystal the Restaurant Events Coordinator for that. When we went on our scouting trip last year we were shown round 4 different restaurants to see all the options - all were amazing but Lakeside was exactly what we were looking for! If you haven't decided on your reception yet you should totally ask to do that when you visit Vegas next month, it's a great way to see them all in person.

EVERYONE should get married at The Wynn if you can part with the dollars. It was amazing. I have a pic of two inside the salons if you want to have a look.  The Primrose Courtyard is gorgeous. I did a few upgrades. I had Darlene and Rachel and they were brilliant.

My biggest advice though is... DO NOT GO WITH CASHMAN for photography. Please don't do it!!

Happy to help if you have any Wynn questions :)
  • Jixxt, were you able to opt out of Cashman for the ceremony?  So far I have had no luck doing so.  I was going to try to sneak my photographer (Exceed Photography) in as a guest and see if she can sneak in a few photos.  Otherwise I have only am using Cashman for 1/2 hour just to get a few pictures of the actual ceremony and then I will be going on a strip photo tour with Exceed Photography.
  • @jdaigle44 I'm using my own photographer, had to pay a $750 fee though. But it'll be worth it, photography is the most important thing to me and I'm not willing to risk it with Cashman!

@jdaigle44 - yes you can opt out. Well at least, I could when I booked everything. It was only recent so if you put the pressure on you should be successful soon.

UPDATE: I've had a few conversations now with the Director of Wynn Weddings and she has been great. This morning I spoke to the post production customer service guys that represent Cashman for Wynn, and they are trying so very hard to edit our pictures to the specs that we are after. We got some samples today and they look great. I am really keen to get the revised video, but I just wanted to note that they are really trying to rectify all the things that I was disappointed with - which is very respectable considering we've already paid them in full.

I have an idea of where I want to go, but I'll probably check them out next month as well.  I'm waiting for the Restaurant Events Coordinator to reach out to me, so hopefully I hear back soon!

Congrats!  I had no idea that I could book outside photography, I thought each casino had strict contracts with Cashman.

Were there any restrictions from having your own photographer?  Such as not having pictures inside the casino, etc.  I will email my wedding coordinator to inquire about this option tomorrow!

Almost every casino does have Cashman, but it's not exclusive.

The Cosmo is with Imagine and same with.... someone else. I can't remember who. Cosmo claims they're the only ones on the strip that don't use Cashman, but I know there's someone else (Mirage, maybe?)

There is the restriction that if you pay for an external photographer you cannot have photography inside the grounds. That was one of the main reasons we chose to stick with Cashman. You could sneakily take the pics, but the Cashman guys had special tags that associated them with the hotel. I guess if you had an external photographer you could be asked to leave? That was what our coordinator said anyway
  • Here's the wording as we have in our contract:

In order for your photographer to be able to shoot on Wynn Las Vegas and Encore property, there is a service fee of $750.00.  In addition to the service fee, the photographer can only  shoot in public areas (your photographer may not ask to enter anywhere that is locked) of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore and your photographer is required to provide us with a copy of their valid workman’s comp insurance policy, valid $1mil liability insurance (minimum) policy, and a valid Business License.

So public areas should be fine, and also she can shoot at the restaurant for our meal. I had such a specific idea of what I wanted for photography, there was no way I was being forced to use whatever company the hotel dictated! There's always a way to negotiate these things, just keep in mind it may be harder if you've already signed a contract. We worked all this out months before paying our deposit.

As for other Strip hotels, Mandarin Oriental were the only one I found in my scouting that allowed you to use all your own vendors with no additional fee's.

  • We were married in the Lavender wedding salon last summer.  We were concerned about the possible heat (we did a daytime wedding), and felt that the salon would be more comfortable.

I was very happy with the salon.  Both of the salons are beautiful, and other than the bouquets and flowers at the front, we just had rose petals on the aisle.  The Primrose Garden is also beautiful, but by choosing the indoor location- we didn't have to worry about the weather.

As for the photographers, we were told at the time that no outside photographers were permitted.  I remember asking if we paid a fee if we could use someone else, and we were told no.  So- it sounds like they changed their policy, which is good.  I was not thrilled with my Cashman photos- some of them were fine, but many of them did not turn out the way I had hoped (our post-wedding champagne toast photos have a huge "exit" sign in them over our heads; the photographer wasn't familiar with the hotel- i.e. she didn't know about the flower covered carousel and balloon at the entrance; limited number of poses; lighting issues, etc.).  I do have some photos that I liked, and we did have a photo tour that night with a separate photographer that turned out well.  However, if you have the extra money and are permitted to have the outside photographer, you may want to consider it.

Overall, we are both very happy that we had our wedding at the Wynn.  Rev. Walter did a great job with the ceremony.
