Havng a rough day

FI got the job in Clearwater, FL. which I'm really excited about, but we can't go together right away.
I am going through job interviews right now but haven't heard anything back so I'm just kind of in limbo.

He left today and its been really rough on me. I thought it would be easier, because he used to travel for work, but its surprisingly hard. I've just been sitting here bawling my eyes out for the last half hour. The worst part is I can't just sit here pouting all day, I work at the one bank in the US that's open today and I have to work. :(

    My FI travels for work a lot, like months at a time, and before we did that he was LIVING there and we did long distance a year and a half. We would go 4 months without seeing each other.
    All I can say is that it gets easier.
    Also, see each other as MUCH as you can because I found our relationship would get closer to a breaking point the longer we were apart.
    I know a lot of girls on here go through distance, so lean on us!

    That is super tough, Skype is definately handy to have!!! My ex and i did that while he was deployed. So if you both have the opportunity of a night highly suggest that!

    This x100. FI just had his one year anniversary at his job. When he first left we went three months without seeing each other. We are currently on a two month streak (get to see him in two weeks though, SUPER excited). We also fight/ bicker more the longer we go, usually begininng around the one month mark. One thing that helps a lot, we have a phone date EVERY night. Typically around 8, or sooner/ later as needed for our schedules. Sometimes it's a 5 minute "Hi, I love you, I'm busy, I promise we'll have a longer conversation tomorrow" conversation, hearing his voice helps a lot. So does texting him throughout the day, such as "I love you" or a reminder of a silly inside joke you guys share.

    Sorry you're having a tough time. Some friends of mine had to live on opposite ends of the country for the first year of their marriage and told me that it does get easier. Hopefully you'll find a job soon too!

    Thanks guys. Its nice to have a shoulder to cry on right now.

    The jobs I've applied for are with the bank. The one I've been hoping to hear from is pretty much my dream job.

    So I got a call today that I didn't get the job I wanted :(

    The good news was they really liked me, and thought I was qualified for the job, the only problem is they had an equally qualified applicant who lives in the area and could start sooner. There was another opening that I applied for and this manager told me he would talk to that hiring manager about me and put a good word in.

    FI and I decided that I would just put my two weeks notice in and go out there. It will be a lot easier to get a job if I'm already there.

    It does take a load off my mind.
    I will be in my current job until the 9th. Than leave on the 10th. I was hoping I could leave a few days before that, but I'm going to try to get on a work leave program they have at my work and my boss is kind of using that as leverage.
    Oh well, it'll be worth it.
