Things to do instead of a veil

I am going pretty non traditional with my wedding. The main non traditional thing is the dress is entirely light teal . With the color of the dress I don't think that a veil would be appropriate but I don't know what to do instead of a veil because my head will be very plain. What types of things would be a good way to replace a veil? I would appreciate any suggestions.

For my first wedding I wore a kind of large flower with feathers attached to it. By this description it doesn't sound very pretty but it truly was. An artist friend of mine made it for me. I also like the look of the glitzy headbands and might do that this go 'round.

Other brides have done a birdcage veil or a flower crown.

IMO, the color of the gown does not make a veil "inappropriate". But if you don't want one, that's cool.

I'm a big fan of birdcage veils and over-the-top fascinators like MJKLover described. I've seen a lot of interesting comb sets lately that have attached chains between them, like this.

You could always go full-on Labyrinth.

I didn't have a veil. I can't stand them actually.

I had some Swarovski crystal hair pins in my hair.

If you aren't going to go with a veil, you have combs, headbands, or tiaras as popular alternatives. I think what you're going to want to go with really depends on the style of the dress, but if it's teal I'd go with something light like a white or a silver.

All of the above suggestions are great as alternatives. I had a few of these in my hair, which was a sort of braided side pony tail.
