Mrs or Ms?

First Anniversary 5 Love Its First Comment Name Dropper

I've been going back and forth on whether or not I want to take Fiance's last name.

Say he's John Doe and I'm Jane Smith.
Once we're married, if I keep Smith, would I stay Ms Smith or would I become Mrs?

I'm thinking I only take Mrs if I take on his surname, but not exactly sure!

    Most women who keep their name continue to use Ms., but you can choose to be Mrs. if you prefer. You would just make you preference known to anyone who would need to address you by a title.

    Ms is the appropriate form of address when you don't take your husbands last name.

    People will still address you as Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Jane Smith though, or just Mrs. Doe so be prepared for that. It's just one of those frustrating things in life I guess.
