Here are the vows I'm playing with. I combined a few different versions of the traditional vows. They are a bit long but I'm not sure of anything I want to take out.
My question is how many words/phrases to repeat at a time? I don't want a sing-songy thing where only a couple words are said, but I want them to be easy to get through, as well. Each new line represents a stopping point where the officiant would say the next line for us to repeat.
Version 1:
I,
Groom, take you, Bride,
I
offer you my solemn vow
for
richer or for poorer,
in
sickness and in health,
in
joy as well as in sorrow.
I
promise to love you unconditionally,
to
support you in your goals,
to
honor and respect you,
for
as long as we both shall live.
I,
Groom, take you, Bride,
my
constant friend, my faithful partner,
and
my greatest love from this day forward.
I
offer you my solemn vow
for
richer or for poorer,
in
sickness and in health,
in
joy as well as in sorrow.
I
promise to love you unconditionally,
to
support you in your goals,
to
honor and respect you,
and
to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.
Or some combination of the two. Thoughts please.
