Co-workers are throwing a bridal shower for another co-worker. None of us are invited to the wedding (which is fine, I didn't expect an invite). The note said, "No registries, cash gifts greatly appreciated" and then we had to pay for a lunch being catered by another co-worker's husband.

I would have skipped too. If an envelope had gone around I would put in $5. I would be busy otherwise.

I'm just in a bad place right now. Usually I'll suck it up and play the politics, but I didn't have the energy. It doesn't help that while I don't dislike this particular co-worker, I have no affection for her either -- we work together and are polite and that's exactly the level I'm looking for from her.
