Ask me anything. Yep, you heard me!

To commemmorate my last day of quasi-freedom before traveling, wedding, honeymoon, unpacking, and job-ing, here I am, throwing myself at the feet of E as an AW as I post this sort of thread.

:)

  • Hi Poli!  It's good to see you here - you must be so excited, what with your wedding just days away!

Um, question . . . let's see:  Did anyone RSVP "yes" that you were really not expecting to see?  Are you happy about that?  Same question, but for a "no" RSVP?

With FI, actually. I was 20, and we'd been together around 6 months.

Um, question . . . let's see:  Did anyone RSVP "yes" that you were really not expecting to see?  Are you happy about that?  Same question, but for a "no" RSVP?

Hi OWN :) My cousin RSVP'd yes, and I didn't think he'd come, as he lives in Russia. I'm not sure how I feel, as the last time I saw him was really weird. A part of me really doesn't want to see him, but I just don't know. I'm sad that one of my close friends from my grad program couldn't come, but she has a bar mitzva to go to, so it's ok!

What's your favorite book? Movie? TV show? Food?

Stephen Chbosky's Perks of Being a Wallflower, three-way tie between Capote, The Matrix, and Legally Blonde.

How are you doing this (half) cross-country move thing?  H and I want to do the same thing (to Charleston, SC) but I'm completely puzzled as to how we're going to go about this.  Any tips?

I like how we did it, although it does have its downsides. We didn't have jobs or a place to stay when we left, so we took all of our stuff and left it in FILs garage (they live close to where we used to live), packed up FI's car with everything it could hold, and drove here. We've been staying with my cousin and my MOH for the past two weeks, and now that I have a job and we found an apartment, we booked a guy on Uship.com (definitely use that website) to pick up the stuff from FILs right after the wedding and deliver it to our place! I'd really recommend it, since we did have an escape route if we couldn't find jobs. If we hadn't found something right away, we would've rented a furnished sublet with college students until we got on our feet.
  • If you had to start college all over again, would you get the same degrees?  Before you were a vegetarian, what was your favorite meat dish?  Is there any sort of meat you've never had, but kinda sorta wonder what it tastes like?

  • What's the best vacation you've taken with FI? Where would you like to travel?

We decided to move to SF after we came here for the past two years for vacations and didn't want to leave. The first time we came here was right after I graduated undergrad, and it was just so amazing. It's also when he proposed, so yeah :) I really want to bring him to our family's cabin on an island in Ontario. It's shared by our whole extended family, so it's hard to get time up there, but it's my favorite place on earth.

Do you like crunchy or smooth peanut butter?

Crunch, straight up! I'm actually eating some right now...
  • Haha, the little girl that is in my office right now just told me to ask you who your favorite Disney princess is...

She would also like you to know that her favorite is Ariel from the Little Mermaid "because she gets to swim with the fishies under the sea."
  • If you had to start college all over again, would you get the same degrees?

I think I would, but I would've taken more foreign language classes. If I could speak Spanish, I'd be making twice what I am now :P I loved doing theater, and I feel like I would've regretted never exploring it as a career choice.

Before you were a vegetarian, what was your favorite meat dish?  Is there any sort of meat you've never had, but kinda sorta wonder what it tastes like?

My mom's turkey gravy with mashed potatoes. And tuna fish sandwiches! Since I haven't eaten meat since I was really little, I don't remember anything about the taste or the texture. I'm curious about lobster and steak, particularly. I couldn't fathom eating them, but I'm intrigued by why they're so good.

Does your FI know that you will be online Sept 6th with pictures for us?

I'm sure he'd be surprised if I wasn't, ha!  We don't leave for our honeymoon until late that night, so it'll probably be acceptable :)

You should tell her that I like her style :) My little cousin is obsessed with Ariel right now. My mom just sent her my old Ariel halloween costume she made.

I'm going to have to go with Belle. IMO, she's one of the only ones with much of a backbone. I love where the tells Gaston off. And she's a bleeding heart like me!
  • Belle is my favorite too. Damn, I love that movie.

I do! I'm not necessarily amazing at it, but I really enjoy it. I love making soups, stews, curries, anything warm and hearty :) I haven't done much baking, but I'm going to tackle bread next.

Sounds like me. I can't wait for the cooler weather to come so I can get the crock pot out and do soups and stews. I haven't tackled the whole baking thing either, but that is next on the to do list.

It turned out that it was much less secure of an offer than they had originally told FI. The whole thing got kind of shady, and we decided to go back to our original plan of coming to SF. I can still see us going there someday, but it just got kind of strange :P

ETA: Thanks, Moose! I've had some good times on here, and I'll be around :)

I'm so excited to see family and friends... I haven't seen most of my extended family in about a decade, and my friends are scattered all across the country. It's going to be so much fun!

And I'm 5'9". Did you think I was shorter?

In my head you're about 5'5" even though you look tall in your sig. I make up my own descriptions no matter what I see, apparently, lol. I think everyone here is about 5'5" for some reason!
