    I love historical tidbits like that.  I'd always assumed it was to torture BM's- "how many different body types can I stuff into the same exact dress?" :|

    Ironically, the only wedding I've been in where the BP wore different dresses was my own.  I know supposedly the tides are turning but I've had to wear a matching dress every time I've been a BM.

    The whole "distract evil spirits" thing is a big thing to ask of one's BMs!
