Choosing a photographer

So currently my FH and I are trying to decide on a photographer. We are currently setting up meetings with some to get samples and further understand services. We recently have scheduled two official meetings, however I am in contact with about 10 photographer vendors.

Did I contact too many?
How many should we narrow it down to meet and make a final discussion from?

    I would generally look online at photographer blogs (to get an idea of how they shoot) and narrow the 10 down to 2-4 max to interview. In the interview, I would ask for references for any photographer that you feel you click with. Keep in mind that the photographer's time (and your own time) is valuable.
