Address Question for RSVP Cards

I am having the response cards send to me and my fiance. It's just a lot easier that way. For others who are doing this, how did you address the return envelopes? Obviously we are not Mr. and Mrs. FI'sLastName yet. Just my name? The LastName Household?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Re: Address Question for RSVP Cards

  • My FI and I just used our first names in the first line, thenour address as usual.

I have a stamp with just my full name and address on it that I was planning on using for the RSVP envelopes. I feel a bit awkward doing it that way--almost self-centered, I guess?--but we're hosting, and my parents live 45min away, so it wouldn't make sense to have them sent there.
  • Use just your first names. Your married name and "Last Name Household" imply that you are already married.

You could just have them sent back to you - using your full maiden name, but that's up to you.
  • For our save the dates I used a stamp with:
    my last name/DH's last name
    Our address

but, I've seen friends use just their address w/no names or the bride's full name

I thought about this, since we also have a stamp with only our first names & address, but I'm worried it would be a little too casual.
  • We did "The Smith-Jones Wedding" then our address.

This is what we did. I used just my name on the STDs and got a lot of comments from his family about "why are they just from you?" Well, because both of our full names didn't fit. So for the invitation return address and the RSVP envelopes I did "The Smith-Jones Wedding." Of course then my aunt commented that events don't have addresses...can't please everyone I guess!
  • They were just addressed to me, even though FI and I live together.  He didn't care.

We just did our last names separated by a bullet.

    Lizzie
  • We used our full names (we live together):

    Jane Turtle & John Star
    123 Main Street
    Townieville, NC 12345
    Anniversary
  • Thanks so much for your suggestions, everyone. I'm leaning toward using both of our first names, but it's great to hear all of the different options to consider.

We used both our first names and last names. Since we both have large families I was worried most of my elderly extended family might get confused if they didn't know for sure who they were sending it to. I don't know how many of them even know his last name.

  • I just put my full name and our address since I'm the one who will be handling the RSVPs. We have a little mail sorter thing by the fridge and I would hate to have a bunch of RSVPs missed because they got mixed in with FI's mail.

  • We had the address printed on ours and used "The Future Mr. and Mrs. E" instead of our first names
