Wedding Woes

Norwex people?

Should I go to one of these "parties?"  I usually ignore them, but this one is being hosted by the mom of one of Wooz's besties.  (Not the friend who had the birthday this weekend, another friend.)

Here's the thing: if it were anything else, I'd go, throw some money at the thing, and be done with it.  But I don't really care about cleaning stuff.  At all.  At least with Pampered Chef or something, I can pick up a cool little gadget.

Do you recommend it?  Is there anything worth getting?

Re: Norwex people?

  • i don't have any idea what Norwex is , but I'm not supporting one of those pyramid scheme things, so I vote no on principle.
  • And BTW, I was browsing their website (I might consider the dryer balls, I've been wondering about those), and I saw kids strawberry toothpaste.  Which caught my eye, because DS is picky and will only use Tom's strawberry kids toothpaste.  $15.99!  For 2.5 oz!  What the what?

    Products I love

The dust mitts are awesome.  They work well and the kids can use them too.
White mesh dish cleaner thingy- that's exactly what it does, but I like I can toss it in the washing machine and it's really good to get in corners.
The spirocleaner thingy- its a metal cleaner with a handle.  I use it to scrub my tub and pots and pans.
I also like the face clothes.  I use them instead of a harsh scrub on my face.
    These aren't too pricey.

The enviro-cloth and window cleaner are also great for windows and mirrors, but kinda over-hyped so don't do it.
Don't do any toilet cleaner stuff.  Even the diehard Norwex people I know hate it.

My friends love the dryer balls. I'm heading out but can get more specific if you want.

I really like the face cloths (although I  think we just use the body cloths on our faces).  DH was terrible for even washing his face and had fairly regular breakouts, but since I've kept a cloth for him in the shower he's been using it and has cleared up amazingly.  I use a bit of gentle cleanser on my cloth and my skin has never been happier.

so basically, a really expensive washcloth?
amazon has a 50 pack of microfiber for $20.

I don't have any Norwex, but my step-Mom has some of the cleaning cloths (just the cloths, no other cleaning products) and she LOVES them. She has a cloth for glass and a cloth for dusting (maybe some others?) and swears by them- says you don't need to use any other product with them.

It's an interesting idea and I'm intrigued but haven't bought any myself.

Is a Norwex consultant the only way you can get the product?
