Wedding Woes

Friday happened.

i feel like I put in enough work M-Th so nothing happening at work today.

Finally saw End Game last night.  I’m not a fan of marvel/DC movies, I go for the hubs so I’m not one to give opinions.  I’m just glad that’s out of the way so we can move on to better movies.  Like Detective Pikachu.

It’s garage sale weekend in our neighborhood. I hate garage sale weekend. Every year I come close to hitting someone.

Nine games this weekend so happy Mother’s Day to me.

I’m also in the middle of trying to grow out a pixie cut and embrace my curls. It’s not going well. Oh I am PMS Ing
  • I'm with you, @CharmedPam!  I still have a good bit to do today, plus Fridays are only my half day.  But I've been burning myself out all week and, so far, have been pretty leisurely about getting stuff done, lol.

This weekend should finally be pretty relaxing.  Not much else for me to do on the purchase end for those duplexes.  It's the "lull" time while my lender is doing their thing, though I told them to temporarily put things on hold.  We went over there earlier this week to do a quick inspection.  Just make sure the properties are still the same as the last time we saw them.  Had exactly the same problem we did last time.  Got into two units, but couldn't get into the other two because only the tenants have keys.  And someone was home in one of those units and wouldn't open the door.

Oh HELL NO!  No indeed.  I've finally put my foot down with the seller and had my agent tell theirs that I'm not proceeding forward any further until SOMEBODY locally, not the tenants, have KEYS to those units.  Because I'm almost at the point where my lender would be ordering appraisals.  It's bad enough to be jerking me around and wasting my time with having to go over there multiple times.  My inspector last time even did me a favor to go over there a second time without an additional charge.  But appraisers don't play like that.  We're talking $1,000-$1400 (total) to appraise these two properties.  Paid (by me), upfront.  I am NOT gambling that kind of money until this access problem is resolved.

And the most pathetic thing about it is that this is such an easy problem for the seller to solve.  Except he's not, even though I've raised this issue a number of times.  This guy's actions have already been so bizarre that it wouldn't surprise me if he chooses to throw up his hands and kill the deals.  Instead of actually doing the "work" of calling a locksmith to get keys made and paying 60 bucks.  I don't know how anyone could be that foolish, but I wouldn't put it past him.  At this point, as much as I want these properties, I'm just "whatever".  I hope he complies but, if he doesn't, I'm done and will look for something else.

Jazz Fest is over, so I'll have my quiet neighborhood back, lol.  I have a few errands today, but that's it.  I need to get a crack on my windshield fixed and go to Sam's Club for a few items.

Let me know if you ever have any questions, @6fsn.  You know I've had a long journey with that myself.  i'm getting ready to try a new hair product that I'm excited about.  They're supposed to be here this weekend I think.  Lus Brands for for Wavy hair.

Well, Zelda passed Wednesday night.  Yesterday was really hard and today's not much better, but I'm back at work.  I never expected to lost Bennett and Zelda less than a year apart.  Zelda was only 10, so I really expected to have at least 2-4 more years with her.  We had a double whammy: she was refusing the new prescription food and the insulin shots weren't lowering her blood sugar.  She had already lost about 20 pounds and I'm sure it was worse.  I just really hate that she was at the vet's office and not at home.

This weekend I'm supposed to take Mom out for lunch, teach them how to order groceries online and go to At Home so she can buy some outdoor cushions.  I still got up today and did my morning routine and makeup. so I'm pushing myself.  SSDD at work.

I am so sorry for your loss v.

I have anew stylist that is supposed to be a curly specialist. She gave me lots of good info on my first visit. Of course my children cane off the bus and one said “is this an April fools day joke?”
  • Oh no @VarunaTT, that is so sad to hear.  T&P’s are with you!

@climbingwife, I’m watching Dead to Me as I work out and I’m really enjoying it so far. It helps that I like the cast. Everyone who watches it says they like it.  Let’s hope for a S2.

  • @VarunaTT I'm so sorry to hear about Zelda's passing. Sending lots of Ts & Ps.
  • @VarunaTT, oh no!  I am so sorry to hear about Zelda.  That's heartbreaking, especially with it being unexpected.  I'm sorry the prescription food and insulin didn't improve her condition.

I mean, M2 has some pretty good style, but don't let the pre-teen set mess with your curls!  It took me awhile to get used to seeing myself with them.  And turns out, I had some internal biases to fight back about curly hair, which was unexpected.  But I really do love them now, I get compliments all the time, and it's so much easier than trying to fight them.  My hair is healthier for it.
  • So sorry for your loss, Varuna!
  • V - So sorry about Zelda.  ::hugs::

Busy at work yesterday and busy today.  Just poking in to lurk a minute, say hi and hope everyone has good weekend!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmoms, aunts, step-moms, dog-moms, cat-moms, etc, etc.

  • So sorry for the loss of Zelda, V.

@6fsn - growing out hair is such a PITA.  I get to a certain point and I just have it cut off again because it bugs me too much.

We have a few weekend plans.  Tonight we are doing dinner at a local diner and a work friend is joining us.  Car appointment tomorrow for tires and then some errands.  Most important one is to pick up the Nothin' Bundt Cake we ordered for Sunday.  Then I need to put together some sides I'm bringing to my brother's place on Sunday.

Sunday we are going to church with Mom and then home to change and pick up things to bring to my brother's place.  We'll have lunch and hang out there.  He has a park model trailer about an hour from us and it's really nice and peaceful there.  Unfortunately, I don't think my nephew will be there as there is a family gathering on his Mom's side.  My brother and wife got divorced last summer and it's an adjustment for all of us that holidays are just different now.  Plus, nephew is 16 and friends are priority so we don't see him much.

Then it'll be Monday again and I have another group of orientation for two weeks so work will be crazy busy.

Happy Mother's Day to Moms of all types!

Ive had the same journey with my curly hair! I didn’t realize how many biases/thoughts I had tied up in curly vs straight hair.

Im so so sorry about Zelda.

@VarunaTT- 6let was the one upset!  M2 has come around to her curls and mine. I just need to learn to “listen” to the way the curls want to go and stop fighting them.
  • Oh @VarunaTT, I am so sorry. Sending you hugs.

I decided to try walking with a cane at work today, and I think it’s actually making walking more difficult, not less.

I have an absurd amount of work to do, so I’m going to have to stay late.

Tomorrow is kind of a bummer. I’m in no shape to do RiverSweep, and two of the the three women who were supposed to come to my book discussion cancelled. Oh well, at least I have my sponsor and my writing group to look forward to.

Sunday we’re hanging out with my folks and calling MIL and SD’s mom.
  • Happy early mother’s day to anyone who celebrates!
  • I’m so sorry for your loss @VarunaTT. Pets are family.

    Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!

Work today. Yesterday was nuts and I was floated to another unit. Plus we were being audited so that was another fun added stressor. I can’t wait for Sunday.

Yay for clear scans!! Yes it’s Exactly what it sounds like. The neighborhood does it in one weekend to try to get more traffic.
  • Varuna- I am sorry about Zelda. I know how hard it is to lose a pet suddenly. ((Hugs))

    Eileen- wonderful news!

I am still sick, the baby still has a cough so DH is making us go to the clinic tomorrow. He has a doctor's appointment in the morning as well so it is going to be a fun filled day, lol.
  • Varuna - I am so sorry about Zelda. Fur babies are such an important part of our familie!
Great news about your Mom, Eileen.

I'm over the rain and cold! Yesterday, I had lunch with a friend then Facetimed with DD and grandsons. One of them can say Nana now! They both recognized me on the screen and want to touch me. So cute! H and I went dancing last night. When we got my home DS2 jumped out (literally) to surprise me by coming home for Mother's Day. I nearly had a heart attack. I screamed louder than I ever have before I was so startled. It is so sweet of him to surprise me but geez it took a while before my heart rate returned to normal! Tonight we go out for Korean BBQ and tomorrow after church we are going out with friends - not sure if DS2 is going with us (he knows the couples).

    Enjoy your weekend everyone!
