Is Tuesday better this week if it’s really your Thursday or Friday?

We booked our 2021 cruise last night.  Oddly enough, it’s the exact same ship and itinerary I had for 2020 but I canceled it for the cruise we’re going on instead.  So it was a HUGE sign that I keep looking at this one ship.  It’s only a five nighter so we can afford a suite.  I am SO looking forward to the suite life.

And as soon as the 2022 itineraries open up - I’m eyeing one going to Colombia, Honduras and Costa Rica.  It’s 11 nights and both H and I get an extra week of vaca in 2022. All those places are on my bucket list. I think panama is in there too.... And yeah you DO have to book 2 years ahead to get the best rooms!

Re: Tuesday

  • I’m home sick, so I guess yesterday was inadvertently my Friday? I’m pretty sure I have a cold and a sinus infection. So I’m sleeping and watching TV today. Maybe I’ll finally watch the Crown. I’ve made it part of the way through season 1.
  • @CharmedPam whoo nice trip planned ;) {both}
    And yes, Tuesdays still suck {see below *headdesk*}

@charlotte989875 booo :( rest and if you have anything menthol or camphor oil scented {think Vicks or tiger balm}, it should help relieve some pressure. I do that often to relieve pressure, breath easier and give myself a break until any meds kick in.

    @VarunaTT Vibes for surgery! {saw yesterday's post}

I swear I tried to post all day yesterday and just would get caught up doing other things.
Friday I was home sick. I think I just got over tired, so I slept most of the morning. M ended up coming home at lunch, because keeping him at work lately is a chore. It's his last few days there, so I know it won't last at least.

We're doing Santa pictures this week :)

Last night/this morning was just rough. BabyKitten is probably getting her cuspids and I think her last molar is breaking, so she's out of sorts. I think her dry skin and eczema is bugging her too, so we're gonna start slathering her up.

Since she was up early and had shitty sleep, she's a bit more clumsy. She slipped on the stairs. I just heard her hands hit the step, but couldn't tell if she hit her mouth. Brought her upstairs into the light and calmed her so I could see about blood first. No blood. I thought she chipped a tooth but M saw better and said her front 2 teeth are shifted. Her poor mouth is already sensitive because of those cuspids :(
  • I am TRYING to kick this cold.   I think it's a sinus infection and yesterday I irrigated my sinuses.   I always freak out about it and made DH boil water before I used his Navage.   I am feeling somewhat better and hope tomorrow is also improved.

It's my Friday and the kids are off tomorrow.   Chiquito has his physical tomorrow, I owe my aunt some homemade stock (made Sunday from two turkey carcasses) and then I think I'm taking my kids to the casino area where we're throwing Chiquita's party.

I feel bad for her.   Having a December birthday is at a knowingly hectic time.   This year we booked it at an arcade and kept the list small and thus far 3 kids can't make it including one of her best friends.   I've given her 3 more invitations just so she can add friends because I just hope she isn't sad.   Kiddo wears hear heart on her sleeve.

@mrsconn23 I'm keeping you and your mom in my T&P.
  • We are on season three of The Crown. It’s a bit darker than the other seasons and deals a lot more with the theme of mortality. It’s a good season though. Imelda Staunton is supposed to be Elizabeth in season 4, which I’m looking forward to.

I have my computer training today. Fingers crossed it’s an early day like yesterday but we’ll see. Easing into full time with a three day work week is great.

    Good vibes today @VarunaTT!

    Feel better @charlotte989875

Those sound like great cruises @CharmedPam

  • Weekend was nice - Saturday did a little cleaning then watched football for the rest of the day and ordered in for dinner.  Sunday I grocery shopped and we cleaned and organized a bunch.

I am off all week - company is closed Th/Fri but I love taking this week off - 3 vacation days and 10 straight days off work! Yesterday I spent time drinking coffee and reading a book, then ran a ton of errands in the afternoon and am pretty much finished with Christmas shopping - the rest is in my amazon cart!  Then H and went to dinner and a movie.  We saw Good Liar - which we obviously thought would be good, but it was far better than my expectations.

We also had new insulation put in the attic yesterday so had to clean out our master closet and coat closet bc that's where the access is.  So today I'm leisurely eating breakfast then cleaning closets and putting everything back and doing other random cleaning around the house.

@VarunaTT I hope surgery and recover goes well, i'm so glad they fit you in!!!

  • I need to start The Crown season 3 as well.  I'm waiting for the next season of Call the Midwife to come to Netflix but I'm afraid it'll go to BritBox now that thats an option.  I just finished Outlander season 1 - wow!

There is asshatery afoot at work.  My manager is being uncharacteristically heavy handed the past couple of months.  An all sorts of other things.  Hoping things settle down soon.  Work stress sucks.

  • how fun @charmedpam

feel better @charlotte989875 I love the behind the counter sudafed if your meds aren't working
  • Not much here, work is slowish for me. I have to be "on" for answering questions that come from our clients' open enrollments but my actual work is slow this time of year. Still have some projects I've been snoozing the reminders on for a loooong time so need to work on that.

Working from home tomorrow since I know the office will be a ghost town. We usually close at 2pm the day before a holiday so even more reason people won't be in. We're hosting Thanksgiving/Baby B's birthday so need to get the house in order. It is a mess and I know my DH will be a butthead about it so it will not be a fun day at home
  • This Tuesday is definitely not as bad since it's mostly a Thursday.

I started the Crown season 3 this weekend. Only 2 episodes in, but I'm loving it so far. Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret is great.

NB - that's really sad. I feel terrible for that woman.

I've been going crazy all week trying to find things that my H "put away". Does your H do this too? At first I couldn't find the turkey platter, and I was freaking out. He had put it in the office closet. Then I couldn't find the hot plate tray. I tore the house apart last night, and he had decided to move it to the cabinet above the fridge (that I'm of course too short to see/reach). GAH. So much stress.
  • @climbingwife yes! mine does that and then I'm like where did you put it. He's also been in a purging mood and I searched several days looking for something only to find out he threw it away because he decided I didn't need it. I was so pissed

Thanks, I’m avoiding all meds for now so just a lot of water and napping.
  • Work is still busy, but I'm taking a self-imposed TK break!

Hope Varuna's surgery has gone well and she is resting comfortably!

NB - That is sad about the wife.  I think MrsConn's idea about the note will be well received by her.

MrsConn - Great to see your mom was able to go home!  I'm sure that has brightened her spirits!

Yesterday I won a pretzel that gets baked into the shape of a turkey from one of the local Philly Pretzel Factories!  Woot!  I will pick it up on Thursday and bring it to my brother's house as an appetizer!  Yoga has been moved to today, since we usually get to leave the office early the day before Thanksgiving.

Although I have started Christmas shopping already, I am still gearing up for Black Friday shopping!
I am completely LMAO off at the thought!  But what a cool and unique thing to win!

OMG @NBSquared2017, that's just awful for her.  But how awkward.  Maybe write her a letter for your agent to give hers at closing as a 'thank you' and 'we'll take care of the house' and put in a few details about what makes you love it?  IDK if it would be a comfort...but it may be nice?
@NBSquared2017, congrats on the home inspection coming out pretty good and straight ahead to closing!  Aaaaaanndddd that is one of the many reasons REAs recommend the sellers are NOT there for showings!  Sure, you can feel generally a little bad for her like you would for anyone.  But don't let it get to you.  Happy buyers, like yourself and your H, with a smooth closing process is actually a big positive for this divorcing couple.  It will take a major millstone off of both their necks and allow them to move on faster.

I agree with @mrsconn23.  A nice letter about the house and a little about yourselves (first house, love XYZ) will probably make her feel a little better.  And, just as importantly, I think it would be cathartic for you to let her know that you know she has loved this house and you all will love it, too.

Hmmm.  I just realized I've purchased 6 properties, but none of them were the seller's personal home.  Any letters I would have written to half those sellers would not have been complimentary at all, lmao.  I've found really scary stuff from ignored maintenance issues that potentially put their tenants' lives in danger.  It's angering that people can be so cheap/careless/both when they are literally in the business of providing habitable and safe housing for others.

  • So as a worried first time mother, I did a bad and googled about BabyKitten's teeth.

Short version - it's ok as long as she's not in pain

Long version - it could have been a lot worse and we should keep an eye on it. I'm going to brush her teeth tonight to see how she is. She has a dr appt next week {18m shots plus well baby visit - which is gonna be a blast because she is EVERYWHERE} and we're gonna mention it to the dr and if anything since incident.
Daycare said she is not showing issues, so that's good. If there was issues, it could be a bigger issue of nerves, etc.
  • If you like stand-up and/or Mike Birbiglia, his new special on Netflix is hysterical.

    have you seen Seth Meyer's?
  • Good vibes today @VarunaTT Feel better @charlotte989875 and @banana468 ugh I hate when my H "cleans" @climbingwife

Making a quick dinner for the kids and then off to Christmas pageant rehearsal at church.  Then some baking for their Thanksgiving parties at school tomorrow.  SSDD otherwise

I started it, but really late.  SO I fell asleep.  I should try it again.  :)

If it helps anyway, when I was a kid, I slipped and hit my mouth hard on the kitchen table.  I actually cracked one of my front teeth.  When my adult teeth came in, the one thing that happened was that I kept pushing my tongue between my teeth, a habit I picked up when I was missing a portion of one.  So I had a big gap to close with braces later in life.  But that was the only thing that was an issue for me.  I did need to wear a tongue guard to reteach my tongue to stay back farther in my mouth, for the first 6 months or so of my braces.
  • Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
@VarunaTT, keeping good thoughts for you.  DD had her GB removed last summer.  All has been well since then!  Make sure you give yourself the proper time to rest and heal!  @mrsconn23, I've been keeping you all in my prayers as well.

I have avoided every cold/fever/snot nose the littles have experienced all fall.  I have been with them just prior to developing a fever, and while they run the fever.  I have fended it all off.  As of this past weekend, I finally succumbed to the dreaded dry cough.  Ugh!  I've had pleurisy a few times, so I freak out about that, and had a 5 month round of pneumonia 5 years ago!  My battle is the meds; some of them make me feel worse than the cough.  I kinda/sorta "popped" something in my hip area yesterday, and now every time I cough I have to practically put pressure on the spot to prevent it from hurting.  I have had my husband smear my entire back with Vick's in an attempt to tackle it from all fronts LOL

Hosting a quiet Thanksgiving this year.  Praying that this "wind storm" that is hitting the area tomorrow does not knock out power!

I know I have been absent from the boards lately, but now have also noticed that I haven't seen anything from @MairePoppy in some time.  Hope all is well there.

Nice to check in with you all!  Stay well!

I do not understand this concept.   Husband puts away?

@VarunaTT, I hope your surgery went well and that you're able to start moving and eating soon.   That recovery can be no joke and I hope you're able to enjoy something mild yet delicious on Thursday.   My dad was walking around the neighborhood the next day and told my mom he'd give her a kiss if she'd leave him alone.   My aunt took weeks and walked with a pillow.    Fingers X that you are walking around soon.

Good to see you! I've been wondering where you have been. Glad to hear you have mostly avoided all the "littles'" germs, at least until recently.

I'm in Chicago for Thanksgiving. I came up early to help DD with stuff around the house. GS1 has had a bad cold and been really cranky. GS2 has had the cold too but not quite as bad or cranky. I'm hoping I don't get it but totally expect to be sick within a few days of going home. H and DS2 are driving up tonight after DS2 drives over after work. I may be in bed when they get here. It is normally 3.5 hours from Indy to Chicago, but with it being the night before Thanksgiving I'm sure traffic will be horrible.

Nothing else much going on with me. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I'm here and have been reading and enjoying the posts.  It's been an unusually busy fall and I just don't have the time to post as often.  Based on the readings, it sounds like so many here have had such a long summer/fall as well.  I am keeping everyone in my prayers.
This will be such a fun holiday season with those boys!  Although the store can be insane, trying to have a meal around the tree at (Fields) Macy's is a great tradition here.  The light displays at the Morton Arboretum or Botanical Garden are great, too! Hunkering down with family and littles can be the best way to spend the weekend!
Safe travels for everyone!  It looks like every coast is getting hit with something.

That does help actually lol And she's started doing that last night with her tongue lol

She did crack her tooth {we got a better look, less squiggly} and tbh we're anticipating her to have braces of some level but never knew anyone who had a tongue guard.
